Radiation Load in X-Ray Computer Tomography

Biomedical Engineering, 2011
Methods for radiation load reduction in helical multidetector X-ray computer tomographs are discussed. The GOST IEC standards and dose monitoring methods should be corrected.

The effects of scatter in x‐ray computed tomography

Medical Physics, 1982
The effects of detection of scattered radiation in x‐ray transmission CT are studied both theoretically and experimentally. It is shown that scatter induces nonlinear errors in the measurement of attenuation values which can lead to cupping, streaks, and CT number inaccuracies.

X-ray computed tomography of the cardiovascular system

Current Problems in Cardiology, 1991
X-ray CT of the heart is an evolving field. The ultrafast CT scanner provides a practical method of applying the high spatial resolution, high density resolution, and tomographic capabilities of conventional CT scanning, permitting an evaluation of the cardiovascular system.
