Curvy Surface Reconstruction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 7, 3 February 2026.
This review introduces the concept of “general curvy surface reconstruction,” which incorporates both geometric and physical dimensions, representing an upgrade over conventional geometric reconstruction that focuses solely on spatial relationships. Particular emphasis is placed on the emerging opportunities enabled by advanced measurement techniques ...

Hypercoiling and Single Umbilical Artery Associated With Fetal Placental Malperfusion and Growth Restriction: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Hypercoiling of the umbilical cord can lead to fetal growth restriction and stillbirth because the cord is vulnerable to blood flow disturbances caused by external forces. A single umbilical artery (SUA) is a relatively common abnormality; however, isolated SUA is associated with fetal growth restriction and stillbirth.

Bacterial Expression of Gene‐Encoding DNA Origami Structures

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 2, February 2026.
Bacterial targeting via programmable DNA origami, varying in rigidity and compactness is unexplored. In transformation assays, origami reduces transformation efficiency compared to single‐stranded scaffolds. Structural features and surface modifications, however, improve transformation outcomes.

Epigenetic Age Estimation for Hawaiian False Killer Whales (Pseudorca crassidens) in the Absence of ‘Known‐Age’ Individuals

open access: yesMolecular Ecology Resources, Volume 26, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Epigenetic aging models hold great promise for enhancing many aspects of wildlife research and management. However, their utility is limited by the need to train models using known‐aged animals, which are rare among wildlife species. We present a novel approach to developing methylation‐based age prediction models that enables us to train ...
