Antimultipath communication by injecting tone into null in signal spectrum [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
A transmitter for digital radio communication creates a null by balanced encoding of data modulated on an RF carrier, and inserts a calibration tone within the null. This is accomplished by having the calibration tone coincide in phase and frequency with

Low‐frequency power of heart rate variability is not a measure of cardiac sympathetic tone but may be a measure of modulation of cardiac autonomic outflows by baroreflexes

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, 2011
Power spectral analysis of heart rate variability has often been used to assess cardiac autonomic function; however, the relationship of low‐frequency (LF) power of heart rate variability to cardiac sympathetic tone has been unclear.

A Question of Tone

open access: yesPORTAL Journal of Multidisciplinary International Studies, 2022
Language, itself, as a source of communication, can also be a form of establishing an identity and setting barriers to communication. This article presents one example of such barriers in a major national language; that of the Vietnamese. The Vietnamese language is one of the markers of identity that Vietnamese often claim as the distinguishing feature

Integrative analysis of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and exosomes from small‐cell lung cancer (SCLC) patients: a comprehensive approach

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study simultaneously investigated circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and exosomes from small‐cell lung cancer (SCLC) patients. The elevated expression of JUNB and CXCR4 in CTCs was a poor prognostic factor for SCLC patients, whereas exosomal overexpression of these biomarkers revealed a high discrimination ability of patients from healthy individuals,

Esquisse du processus d’acquisition des tons du baoulé [PDF]

open access: yesAnadiss, 2016
The language acquisition process defines the different phases of acquisition of language components and beyond language, without any time to reveal the place tones commissioning process for our native languages which are also of tone languages have even ...

Did I do that? Abnormal predictive processes in schizophrenia when button pressing to deliver a tone.

open access: yesSchizophrenia bulletin, 2014
Motor actions are preceded by an efference copy of the motor command, resulting in a corollary discharge of the expected sensation in sensory cortex. These mechanisms allow animals to predict sensations, suppress responses to self-generated sensations ...

The accumulation of myeloid‐derived suppressor cells participates in abdominal infection‐induced tumor progression through the PD‐L1/PD‐1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores how sepsis affects GC progression by creating an immunosuppressive environment. Our findings reveal that sepsis promotes immune dysregulation, enhancing tumor growth and metastasis. Targeting the PD‐1/PD‐L1 pathway with monoclonal antibodies shows potential for restoring immune function and improving outcomes in cancer patients ...

Relationship between Vagal Tone, Cortisol, TNF-Alpha, Epinephrine and Negative Affects in Crohn’s Disease and Irritable Bowel Syndrome

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
Crohn’s disease (CD) and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) involve brain-gut dysfunctions where vagus nerve is an important component. The aim of this work was to study the association between vagal tone and markers of stress and inflammation in patients ...

Tone Biased MMR Text Summarization [PDF]

open access: yesMayank Chaudhari, Aakash Nelson Mattukoyya,Tone Biased MMR Text Summarization,IJCRT, Feb 2018, 2018
Text summarization is an interesting area for researchers to develop new techniques to provide human like summaries for vast amounts of information. Summarization techniques tend to focus on providing accurate representation of content, and often the tone of the content is ignored.

The PTTG1/VASP axis promotes oral squamous cell carcinoma metastasis by modulating focal adhesion and actin filaments

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
VASP was found to be overexpressed in metastatic oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) tissues. Notably, PTTG1‐ and VASP‐deficient OSCC cells demonstrated suppressed metastatic properties by disrupting the interaction between the cytoskeleton and focal adhesion (FAs) in the filopodia region.
