Familial study of fissured tongue
European Journal of Oral Sciences, 1988Abstract – Clinical and genetic characteristics of histologically defined fissured tongue were examined in a familial study. Fifteen probands with fissured tongue and four probands with geographic tongue were selected from earlier studies. In addition, 12 probands. with tongue fissuring, but without changes of papillary structure, were included.

Computer Identification and Quantification of Fissured Tongue Diagnosis
IEEE International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedicine, 2018This paper presents a new computer identification method for the diagnosis of the fissured tongue, which can not only detect the existence of fissures, but also quantify the severity from different aspects such as number of fissures, width, length and ...

Tongue Fissure Visualization with Deep Learning
2018 Conference on Technologies and Applications of Artificial Intelligence (TAAI), 2018Tongue diagnosis is a unique practice in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM), which can be used to infer the health condition of a person. However, different TCM doctors may give different interpretations on the same tongue. If an artificial intelligence model can be developed based on a large number of doctor-interpreted tongue images, a more objective ...

A scanning electron microscopic study of fissured tongue
Journal of Oral Pathology & Medicine, 1986In this study, scanning electron microscopy was used to describe the surface morphology of fissured tongue. Tissue samples from the anterior part of the tongue were taken from 15 patients with fissured tongue. The formalin‐fixed samples were processed routinely for scanning electron microscopy.

HLA alleles in Brazilian patients with fissured tongue
Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, 2012AbstractBackground Fissured tongue (FT) is a clinical condition manifested by numerous little furrows on the tongue’s surface. Previously, the authors observed an association with HLA‐C×06 in psoriasis (PS) and benign migratory glossitis (BMG); however, HLA‐C was not surveyed in FT.Objective This study investigated the association between HLA alleles

Fissured Tongue in Generalized Pustular Psoriasis
Archives of Dermatology, 1993Psoriasis is a common skin disorder, but mucosal lesions are rare. 1 In pustular psoriasis, the tongue shows lesions that are clinically and histologically indistinguishable from geographic tongue. 2 A recent study of mucous membrane in generalized pustular psoriasis has revealed a high incidence of fissured tongue. Patients, Methods, and Observations.
