Use of an improvised clamp to manage bleeding tongue injuries

We report a case of a 67-year-old Chinese man admitted to the emergency department for a persistent bleed on the tongue. Initial digital pressure and application of topical tranexamic acid did not stop the bleeding. An improvised clamp applied to the tongue was successful in achieving haemostasis.
