Deeptongue: Tongue Segmentation Via Resnet

2018 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2018
Accurate tongue image segmentation is helpful to acquire correct automatic tongue diagnosis result. However, traditional methods cannot bring satisfying results in most cases. This paper proposes an end-to-end trainable tongue image segmentation method using deep convolutional neural network based on ResNet.

Segment of Tongue and Tongue's Venation Based on OpenCV

Advanced Materials Research, 2013
Characterization of tongue diagnosis is one of important content of the modernization of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).Tongue image is acquired by camera. Then OpenCV, which is the tool for analyzing image, is used to process tongue image in the environment of Visual C++.

Automatic tongue location and segmentation

2008 International Conference on Audio, Language and Image Processing, 2008
Automatic tongue location and segmentation is challenging due to the complexity of pathological tongues, variance of tongue shapes and interference of lips. This paper proposes an unsupervised tongue location and segmentation method to address these problems.

A novel segmentation of tongue image

International Journal of Functional Informatics and Personalised Medicine, 2009
The segmentation of the body of tongue is a premise to establishing a system of automatic diagnosis by the feature of tongue in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), whose qualities affect the performance of tongue diagnosis. Because of similar colour between tongue body and background, it is difficult to segment tongue.

A Multi-stage Segmentation Method for Tongue Ecchymosis *

2023 45th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine & Biology Society (EMBC), 2023
Tongue diagnosis is an important component of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), in which tongue ecchymosis is the main diagnostic basis for the blood stasis syndrome of TCM. Most of the existing methods are unsupervised and cannot accurately segment tongue ecchymosis.

Unsupervised Tongue Segmentation Using Reference Labels

2020
Accurate and robust tongue segmentation is helpful to acquire the result of automatic tongue diagnosis. There are numerous existing methods for tongue segmentation using traditional image processing or deep learning. However, these methods often require complicated preprocessing or to be trained using a large number of manual labels with expensive cost.

Automated tongue segmentation in hyperspectral images for medicine

Applied Optics, 2007
Automatic tongue area segmentation is crucial for computer aided tongue diagnosis, but traditional intensity-based segmentation methods that make use of monochromatic images cannot provide accurate and robust results. We propose a novel tongue segmentation method that uses hyperspectral images and the support vector machine.

Towards the objectification of tongue diagnosis: Automatic segmentation of tongue image

2009 35th Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics, 2009
Tongue diagnosis is an important foundation of the syndrome difference. The segmentation of the body of tongue is a premise to establishing a system of automatic diagnosis by the feature of tongue in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), whose qualities affect on the performance of tongue diagnosis.

The effects of tongue shape categories on tongue segmentation in English

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2005
In our recent work, we have proposed that the tongue moves by compressing and expanding local functional segments. For any single gesture, functional segments may move in similar or opposite directions to compress and expand the tongue locally. High correlations between segments suggest biomechanical constraints.
