Prevalance study of glaucoma in Malta and Gozo [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
A glaucoma survey was carried out in Malta and Gozo. Using non-contact pulseair tonometer, 2245 participants selected on a random basis, aged 40 years and above, were examined and 3.29% were found to have glaucoma.

Intraocular pressure profile during the modified diurnal tension curve using Goldman applanation tonometry and dynamic contour tonometry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The aim of this study was to compare the intraocular pressure (IOP) profile during the modified diurnal tension curve (mDTC) using Goldman applanation tonometry (GAT) and dynamic contour tonometry (DCT) in treated glaucomatous eyes.

Investigation of four diagnostic methods to identify infectious ulcerative keratitis in horses in Colorado, USA

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Education, EarlyView.
Summary Background Ulcerative keratitis in equine patients can result in keratomalacia and perforation. Prompt and accurate diagnostics are necessary for appropriate therapy and a favourable outcome. Objective To determine the diagnostic utility (specificity and speed) of four diagnostic methods for infectious ulcerative keratitis in the horse.

An ocular biomechanics environment for reinforcement learning [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Reinforcement learning has been applied to human movement through physiologically-based biomechanical models to add insights into the neural control of these movements; it is also useful in the design of prosthetics and robotics. In this paper, we extend the use of reinforcement learning into controlling an ocular biomechanical system to perform ...

Clinical features and outcomes of horses presenting with presumed equine immune mediated keratitis to two veterinary hospitals in the United Kingdom and Finland: 94 cases (2009–2021)

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background There is limited literature regarding equine immune mediated keratitis (IMMK) in Europe. North America‐based publications describe minimal blepharospasm, rare corneal ulceration and no uveitis; clinical impression suggests these are seen in Europe. Objectives Assess the prevalence of blepharospasm, corneal ulceration and uveitis and

Dynamic Contour Tonometry in Primary Open Angle Glaucoma and Pseudoexfoliation Glaucoma: Factors Associated with Intraocular Pressure and Ocular Pulse Amplitude

open access: yesMiddle East African Journal of Ophthalmology, 2013
Purpose: To compare the intraocular pressures (IOP) and ocular pulse amplitudes (OPAs) in patients with primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) and pseudoexfoliation glaucoma (PXG), and to evaluate ocular and systemic factors associated with the OPA ...

A survey of ocular pathology in Warmblood horses in South Africa

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Warmblood horses are a popular breed around the world for equestrian sports. Previous studies have investigated ocular findings in other breeds of horses; however, no studies exist for the Warmblood breed. Objectives To determine the prevalence of ocular abnormalities in a convenience sample of Warmblood horses in South Africa and ...
