[Examinations by ocular pressure tonometry].

Klinische Monatsblatter fur Augenheilkunde, 1991
A new method has recently been suggested for the determination of the outflow resistance in the anterior chamber angle. In this method the intraocular pressure is set to 45 mmHg for 8 minutes. The intraocular pressure is measured after the removal of the suction cup. Values below 7 mmHg are obtained in healthy subjects.

Effect of Central Corneal Thickness and Corneal Hysteresis on Tonometry as Measured by Dynamic Contour Tonometry, Ocular Response Analyzer, and Goldmann Tonometry in Glaucomatous Eyes

Journal of Glaucoma, 2008
The dynamic contour tonometer (DCT; Pascal tonometer) and the Ocular Response Analyzer (ORA) are novel tonometers designed to measure intraocular pressure (IOP) independent of corneal properties and central corneal thickness (CCT), respectively. We wanted to compare the corneal compensated IOP (IOPcc) as measured by ORA with IOP values measured by DCT ...

[Relevance of ocular pressure tonometry and classical tonometry with reference to prognosis in suspected glaucoma and ocular hypertension].

Fortschritte der Ophthalmologie : Zeitschrift der Deutschen Ophthalmologischen Gesellschaft, 1992
A total of 44 eyes of patients with suspected glaucoma or ocular hypertension were examined both by ocular pressure tonometry (OPT) according to Ulrich and by tonography according to Leydhecker. The visual fields of these eyes were prospectively followed up for 3 years to compare the prognostic value of the two methods. In 30 of the 44 eyes a worsening

Intraocular Pressure Values Obtained by Ocular Response Analyzer, Dynamic Contour Tonometry, and Goldmann Tonometry in Keratokonic Corneas

Journal of Glaucoma, 2010
To determine the agreement between dynamic contour tonometer (DCT), Goldmann applanation tonometer (GAT), and Ocular Response Analyzer (ORA) in keratoconic corneas and to find out the effect of corneal biomechanics on intraocular pressure (IOP) measurements obtained by these devices.IOP was measured with the ORA, DCT, and GAT in random order in 120 ...

Comparison of dynamic contour tonometry and Goldmann applanation tonometry and their relationship to corneal properties, refractive error, and ocular pulse amplitude

Optometry - Journal of the American Optometric Association, 2009
Accurate intraocular pressure (IOP) measurement is essential in diagnosing and managing glaucoma. Dynamic contour tonometry (DCT) is less dependent on corneal properties, such as thickness, elasticity, and rigidity, than Goldmann applanation tonometry (GAT).

Development of a Non-Invasive Calibration Method for Ocular Tactile Tonometry

Volume 3A: Biomedical and Biotechnology Engineering, 2013
This article describes a novel method of indirect estimation of intra-ocular pressure using tactile sensors. Two sensor calibration methods have been demonstrated: an artificial neural network (ANN) model and a phenomenological reduced-parameter model based on finite element analysis. The ANN method showed superior performance with an accuracy of +/− 0.

Ocular Tonometry Through Sonic Excitation and Laser Doppler Velocimetry

Journal of Biomechanical Engineering, 1979
Glaucoma is an insidious eye disease which must be detected in its early stages for there to be successful treatment. Primary detection of glaucoma and evaluation of therapy have depended upon tonometric methods which require applanation of the cornea. A new method of IOP determination which is noncontacting and nonapplanating has been devised.

Measurement of Intraocular Pressure with Goldmann Applanation Tonometry, Dynamic-Contour Tonometry, and Ocular Response Analyzer

2016
Intraocular pressure (IOP) is an eye parameter of fundamental importance for the diagnosis of several eye conditions. The clinical standard for IOP measurement is Goldmann applanation tonometry (GAT), which has been the basis for the studies that determined current glaucoma management. Nevertheless, GAT is endowed with a number of limitations, so newer

Evaluation and Testing of Novel Ocular Tactile Tonometry Device

2014
This article describes the experimental analysis of a novel trans-scleral tonometer based on the use of multiple force sensors forming a mechanical stiffness sensor. This approach is similar to an instrumented form of digital palpation tonometry in which manual palpation is used to conclude the stiffness, and hence, the intraocular pressure of the eye.

Ocular tonometry in the child under general anesthesia with IM ketamine.

Acta anaesthesiologica Belgica, 1977
In the young child, the ocular tension cannot be taken without general anesthesia. Most of the anesthetic drugs lower the ocular tension which may give false low results in glaucoma. Ketamine is the only practical drug elevating the ocular tension. To determine the amount of the change in ocular tension under ketamine, the ocular tension was measured ...
