A Neutrosophic Superiority and Inferiority Ranking-Based Model for Resource Allocation Efficiency in University Sports Management [PDF]

open access: yesNeutrosophic Sets and Systems
The evaluation of resource allocation efficiency in university recreational sports aims to analyze and assess the effectiveness of how universities allocate facilities, equipment, and personnel for recreational sports.

Integrated total cost and Tolerance Optimization with Genetic Algorithm [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computational Intelligence Systems, 2010
The tolerance allocation problem has been studied in the literature for decades, usually using mathematical programming (or) heuristic optimization approaches.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

A Decision Support Tool for Resource Allocation in Batch Manufacturing [PDF]

open access: yes2005 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, 2006
A decision support tool for production planning is discussed in this paper to perform the job of machine grouping and labour allocation within a machining line. The production plans within the industrial partner have been historically inefficient because the relationship between the cycle times, the machine group size, and the operator's utilisation ...

Optima TB: A tool to help optimally allocate tuberculosis spending

open access: yesPLOS Computational Biology, 2021
Approximately 85% of tuberculosis (TB) related deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries where health resources are scarce. Effective priority setting is required to maximise the impact of limited budgets. The Optima TB tool has been developed to support analytical capacity and inform evidence-based priority setting processes for TB health ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Is Urban and Rural Construction Land Quota Trading “Chicken Ribs”? An Empirical Study on Chongqing, China

open access: yesLand, 2022
Promoting market-oriented allocation of land has great significance in building a new pattern for high-quality development. As a market-oriented land allocation tool, land quota trading between urban and rural areas promotes spatial efficiency ...

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

WARLOCK: A Data Allocation Tool for Parallel Warehouses. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We present the Warlock tool to automatically determine a parallel data warehouse’s allocation to disk. This GUI-equipped tool is implemented in Java and utilizes an internal cost model and heuristics to determine a disk allocation minimizing both I/O work and query response times. Warlock recommends a ranked list of fragmentation candidates, a detailed

OSAT: a tool for sample-to-batch allocations in genomics experiments [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2012
Batch effect is one type of variability that is not of primary interest but ubiquitous in sizable genomic experiments. To minimize the impact of batch effects, an ideal experiment design should ensure the even distribution of biological groups and confounding factors across batches.
