This study investigates laser‐based oxide removal of Cu inserts in oxygen‐free conditions and examines long‐term oxidation kinetics and surface chemistry under different atmospheres via X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Al–Cu compound casting with differently oxidized surfaces is performed, and intermetallic phase formation, morphology, and thermal ...

Path Planning Method for Wire-Based Additive Manufacturing Processes
The relevance of creating specialized computer programs that convert a virtual 3D model of an object into machine code (G-code) for controlling the process of 3D printing products from wire raw materials is substantiated.

Through direct application of porous transport layer (PTL) on the bipolar plate (BPP) with thermal spraying, the interfacial contact resistance is improved. With the cold gas sprayed BPP–PTL coating system, a proton exchange membrane water electrolysis cell with a cell voltage of Ucell = 1.9 V can be operated up to i = 2.5 A/cm2 in a dynamic mode ...

The subject of this work is the development of a corrosion‐protective coating on steel sheets for form hardening. Rapid heating in an extreme high vacuum (XHV)‐adequate atmosphere is a useful method to prevent oxidation during alloying of 22MnB5 and aluminum to obtain a metallurgical bonding.

Finite element modelling of deformation behaviour in incremental sheet forming of aluminium alloy
In this paper, the finite element method (FEM) is used to study the incremental sheet forming process of pyramidal shape. The material used is aluminium alloy 5052. The tool, a hemispherical ball-head with a diameter (d = 4 mm) made of HSS tool steel, is

Tool Building as a Path to "Superintelligence"
The Diligent Learner framework suggests LLMs can achieve superintelligence via test-time search, provided a sufficient step-success probability $γ$. In this work, we design a benchmark to measure $γ$ on logical out-of-distribution inference. We construct a class of tasks involving GF(2) circuit reconstruction that grow more difficult with each ...

A Knowledge‐Based Approach for Understanding and Managing Additive Manufacturing Data
Additive manufacturing processes generate a large amount of data. Effectively managing, understanding, and retrieving information from this data remains a major challenge. Therefore, we propose an ontology‐based approach to integrate heterogeneous data, enable semantic queries, and support decision‐making.

Tool Path Strategies for Efficient Milling of Thin-Wall Features
The milling of thin-wall geometries has been a challenge due to inherent chatter vibrations and workpiece deflections. Moreover, tool path generation strategies in CAD-CAM systems are not able to fully address all such concerns.
