Call Paths for Pin Tools

Proceedings of Annual IEEE/ACM International Symposium on Code Generation and Optimization, 2014
Fine-grained binary instrumentation is a popular technique to monitor program execution. Intel's Pin is a leading dynamic binary instrumentation framework for building program measurement and analysis tools. A key feature missing in Pin is the ability to associate call paths with instructions as they execute.

Tool-path generation for sidewall machining

Computers & Industrial Engineering, 2009
Presented in this paper is a tool-path generation procedure for sidewall machining, a process that is essential in the fabrication of many mechanical parts. While sculptured surface machining has received a significant amount of attention, there has been relatively less study of the technological requirements of sidewall machining. In this paper, three

Tools for studying paths and cycles in digraphs

Networks, 1998
Summary: The main goal of this work was to describe the basic elements constituting a specialized knowledge base in the field of paths and circuits in digraphs. This knowledge base contains commented on examples with textual and graphical descriptions, invariants, relations among invariants, and theorems.

Path simulator for machine tools and robots

2012 17th International Conference on Methods & Models in Automation & Robotics (MMAR), 2012
The paper deals with a set of the mathematical algorithms for a time parameterization of the motion paths of the machine tools. The key descriptors of the paths follow from CAD documentation, technical drawings or from technological demands. The presented algorithms provide a time mapping of individual path coordinates.

A measurement study of AS paths: Methods and tools

2012 18th Asia-Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC), 2012
Many Internet applications are designed and deployed as overlay applications. The potential mismatch between the application overlay and the network underlay has driven the demand for designing locality-aware applications in order to reduce emerging huge inter-domain traffic load.

Tool path optimization procedures for machine tools

Computers & Industrial Engineering, 1995
Abstract The effectiveness of heuristics for sequencing operations in a numerically controlled punch press is reviewed in this paper. The contact time of a job with a tool in punching is especially small compared to the total processing time, so that determination of the proper sequence is more crucial than in other machining operations.

Exploring developer's tool path

Proceedings of the ACM international conference companion on Object oriented programming systems languages and applications companion, 2011
In this study we introduce the concept of ""cycle"" in daily work of software developers. A cycle is occurs when a developer working on a tool switches to another tool, or also to more, and eventually goes back to the first tool. Using the concept of cycle we explore how the developers distribute their time and navigate among different tools during ...

Compensating Cleanup Tool Path

Volume 6: 18th Computers in Engineering Conference, 1998
Abstract Today’s part geometries are becoming ever more complex and require more accurate tool path to manufacture. Machining process efficiency is also a major consideration for designers as well as manufacturing engineers. Although the current advanced CAD/CAM systems have greatly improved the efficiency and accuracy of machining with ...

Tool Path Calculation Based on the Actual Tool Profile

Advanced Materials Research, 2012
Due to tool wear and making errors, calculating the tool path based on the tool theory model has a great deal of influence on the accuracy of surface finishing machining. In order to solve the above problem, a photogrammetry method is used to extract the rotary cutter profile, and then the tool surface is get by letting the fitting profile curve ...
