Identifying parameters of a broaching design using non-linear optimisation [PDF]
Broaching is one of the most recognised machining processes that can yield high productivity and high quality when applied properly. One big disadvantage of broaching is that all process parameters, except cutting speed, are built into the broaching ...

Abstract The study of morphological evolution is fundamentally tied to ontogeny, yet studies of these heterochronic processes in the fossil record are rare. Fossils belonging to an ontogenetic series are difficult to assign to an ontogenetic stage due to inconsistent proxies for skeletal ages, challenging to taxonomically assign due to morphological ...

Rethinking brachycephaly: Anatomical implications and health considerations in lagomorphs
Abstract Brachycephaly in domestic rabbits is increasingly perceived by welfare organizations as associated with significant health complications, particularly oral pathologies. Despite this perception, comparative anatomical research into rabbit brachycephaly is limited compared to that of dogs and cats, compelling an in‐depth examination of its ...

Clinical Evaluation of Hydroxyapatite-coated Titanium Artificial Tooth Root.
The present study was aimed at evaluating the clinical usefulness of a new type of dental implant, one piece-type artificial root made of a titanic core coated with HAp by plasma-spray coating. A total of 227 artificial roots were implanted in 78 healthy subjects (44 females, 34 males) ranging in age from 17 to 74 years.

The effects of salivas on occlusal forces [PDF]
Contacting surfaces of opposing teeth produce friction that, when altered, changes the contact force direction and/or magnitude. As friction can be influenced by several factors, including lubrication and the contacting materials, the aim of this study ...
