To illustrate the great variety of wisdom teeth impactions, the authors report a case where a vertically impacted 48 projected with its apex over the mandibular border by almost 2 mm. Possible causes of impaction and their consideration in the surgical removal of such teeth are mentioned.

Impacted supernumerary tooth developed under palatal polyp

Summary. We present a rare case of an infant's palatal polyp associated with an impacted supernumerary tooth. We have previously reported three cases of palatal polyps in infants [1]. In one case, after surgical removal of the palatal polyp at the age of 1 year and 8 months, the lesion subsequently began swelling.

The Authors report on a case of interesting tooth transplantation using a supernumerary in the site of a lower premolar root affected by periapical granuloma. Irrespective of local unfavourable conditions, the good result of surgical operation is demonstrated by up to now vitality and stability of transplanted tooth.

Soft tissue impaction occurs when erupting teeth fail to penetrate the overlying gingiva. This has been attributed to abnormally dense, fibrous, gingival tissue. However, soft tissue tooth impaction has been reported in humans with histologically normal overlying gingiva and may be the result of a failure of normal breakdown of overlying tissue.
