Reference Values for Pulse Oximetry Testing in Permanent Teeth: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Pulse oximetry is an accurate diagnostic method for assessing the condition of the dental pulp; however, the normal oxygen saturation levels for each tooth type are yet to be clearly defined. Objectives This systematic review and meta‐analysis aims to answer the question: What are the reference values for pulse oximetry testing in ...

Multiple External Invasive Root Resorption and Calcification in Systemic Sclerosis—Case Report

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim There are few reports in the literature of multiple external invasive root resorption (EIRR) lesions in patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc), and an association between root resorption and SSc is not well established. We report the only case that comprehensively illustrates—with the combination of histopathology, cone beam computed ...

The Role of Neuropeptide Y in Dental Pulp: Balancing Neurogenic Inflammation and Pain Modulation

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Dental pulp is a densely innervated, low‐compliance tissue in which neurogenic inflammation can rapidly escalate into oedema, raised intrapulpal pressure, microvascular compromise, and pain. While Substance P (SP) and Calcitonin gene‐related peptide (CGRP) are well‐established drivers of pulp vasodilation, the Neuroopeptide Y (NPY ...

Effect of pH of bleaching agent on tooth bleaching action in vitro.

open access: yesDental materials journal, 2021
This study investigated the effect of pH of bleaching agent, photo-irradiation time or application times on bleaching action using hematoporphyrin-stained papers (HSPs) and artificially stained bovine-teeth (BT). 23% H2O2 with pH 5.5, 6.0, 7.0, 8.0 and 9.0 were applied on the specimens. HSP was photo-irradiated for 1, 3 and 5 min.
