Arginine Methylation Antagonizes TEAD3‐Mediated Repression to Promote Osteogenic Differentiation by Disrupting RUNX2‐Sequestrating Condensates

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In the unmethylated state, TEAD forms stable, repressive condensates that sequester the osteogenic master regulator RUNX2. Arginine methylation of TEAD at R55 acts as a molecular brake, dissolving these condensates to release RUNX2 and activate the osteogenic program.

Identification of a Force‐Induced Sox9+Acan+ Transitional Subpopulation Linked to FGF2–FGFR2–ERK Signaling in Orthodontic Bone Remodeling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mechanical loading induces a previously unrecognized Sox9+Acan+ transitional mesenchymal cell population in the periodontal ligament that promotes osteoclastogenesis via the FGF2–FGFR2–ERK axis. Targeting this mechanoresponsive stromal population using a localized GelMA@siRNA delivery strategy attenuates pathological osteoclast overactivation and root ...

Cascade Therapy of Periodontitis via Sequential Release of Ribosome‐Targeting Antimicrobial Peptide and Irisin From a Multifunctional MOF‐Based System

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel strategy for periodontitis treatment by co‐delivering a membrane‐ and ribosome‐targeting antimicrobial peptide GF and Irisin through a pH‐responsive metal‐organic framework. The system enables sequential release, providing rapid antibacterial action, anti‐inflammatory and antioxidative effects, as well as promoting bone ...

Use of ultrasound Doppler to determine tooth vitality in a discolored tooth after traumatic injury: its prospects and limitations

open access: yesRestorative Dentistry & Endodontics, 2014
When a tooth shows discoloration and does not respond to the cold test or electric pulp test (EPT) after a traumatic injury, its diagnosis can be even more difficult due to the lack of proper diagnostic methods to evaluate its vitality.

Viable approach to manage superficial enamel discoloration

open access: yesContemporary Clinical Dentistry, 2010
Esthetics is a primary concern amongst young patients and represents a challenge to the dentist. Discolored teeth are frequently seen in the general population. Several techniques have been devised to minimize or completely eliminate tooth discoloration.

Nucleoside‐Based Hydrogel Platform Synergizes with Photothermal Effects for Enhanced Biofilm Eradication Against Periodontitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A synergistic antibiofilm hydrogel platform (ZBAg@FNP) is developed by encapsulating an organic small‐molecule photothermal agent (FNP) within a silver ion‐mediated supramolecular hydrogel (ZBAg), enabling photothermal disruption of biofilm integrity and controlled Ag⁺ ion release upon irradiation.

Recombinant Human Neuregulin1‐β1 Significantly Reduces Schwannoma Growth in Mice

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
rhNRGβ1‐Replacement‐Therapy: Under physiological conditions, NRGβ1 is expressed on axons (in orange), where it activates ERBB2 receptors, facilitating successful nerve regeneration following injury. However, loss of NF2 leads to a reduction in NRGβ1‐expression and increased ErbB2 levels on Schwann cells (in green), which contributes to schwannoma ...

Continued Root Formation after a Compound root Fracture in an Immature Permanent Incisor: A Case Report with a 2-year follow-up [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Dentistry
While traumatic injuries in the young permanent dentition are frequent, root fractures are relatively rare, particularly in immature teeth. This study reports the case of a 7-year-old boy who fell off a bicycle.

Doxycycline and Tooth Discoloration in Children: Changing of Recommendations Based on Evidence of Safety

open access: yesThe Annals of Pharmacotherapy, 2019
Doxycycline use has historically been limited to children older than 8 years because of concerns regarding permanent tooth discoloration. Six studies assessed tooth discoloration in at least 338 patients exposed to doxycycline before 8 years of age.
