Tooth discoloration in endodontic procedures

Abstract We have conducted an experimental study in which dentine disks and Whatman paper were used to test discoloring effects of disinfectants, antibiotics, and flushing solutions used in endodontics. Each of the chemicals was tested alone and in the presence of a 1 per cent suspension of human erythrocytes in saline solution.

Prediction of tetracycline-induced tooth discoloration

Deciduous teeth from children with cystic fibrosis who had a recorded history of tetracycline therapy were sectioned and photographed under visible and ultraviolet illumination to determine the extent of tetracycline incorporation into enamel and dentin.
