Acute spontaneous subdural hematomaas unusual complication after tooth extraction
Background: Intracranial bleeding has been reported in the literature associated with tooth extraction. Coagulation disorders are often associated with complications after dental extraction.

An efficient method to automate tooth identification and 3D bounding box extraction from Cone Beam CT Images [PDF]
Accurate identification, localization, and segregation of teeth from Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) images are essential for analyzing dental pathologies. Modeling an individual tooth can be challenging and intricate to accomplish, especially when fillings and other restorations introduce artifacts.

Autogenous tooth transplantation: an alternative to replace extracted tooth
Background: The gold standard treatment to replace missing tooth is dental implants, however, in certain cases, such as in young patients its placement is contraindicated. Autogenous tooth transplantation, which has been widely done in Scandinavian countries for many years, may become a good alternative to overcome this problem.

Predicting ecology and hearing sensitivities in Parapontoporia—An extinct long‐snouted dolphin
Abstract Analyses of the cetacean (whale and dolphin) inner ear provide glimpses into the ecology and evolution of extinct and extant groups. The paleoecology of the long‐snouted odontocete (toothed whale) group, Parapontoporia, is primarily marine with its depositional context also suggesting freshwater tolerance.

Multiscale modelling couples patches of nonlinear wave-like simulations [PDF]
The multiscale gap-tooth scheme is built from given microscale simulations of complicated physical processes to empower macroscale simulations. By coupling small patches of simulations over unsimulated physical gaps, large savings in computational time are possible.

Abstract Invasive gray squirrels (Sciurus carolinensis) have replaced the native red squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris) across much of Great Britain over the last century. Several factors have been proposed to underlie this replacement, but here we investigated the potential for dietary competition in which gray squirrels have better feeding performance than ...

Multiscale modelling couples patches of two-layer thin fluid flow [PDF]
The multiscale gap-tooth scheme uses a given microscale simulator of complicated physical processes to enable macroscale simulations by computing only only small sparse patches. This article develops the gap-tooth scheme to the case of nonlinear microscale simulations of thin fluid flow.

Abstract Dental microwear texture analysis (DMTA) is widely applied for inferring diet in vertebrates. Besides diet and ingesta properties, factors like wear stage and bite force may affect microwear formation, potentially leading to tooth position‐specific microwear patterns.
