Micro-osteoperforations and Its Effect on the Rate of Tooth Movement: A Systematic Review

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Dentistry, 2020
Prolonged orthodontic treatments have inconvenienced patients and clinicians alike. Surgically assisted techniques for accelerating orthodontic tooth movement have shown promising results in the literature over the years. The minimally invasive nature of

Ultrashort Pulsed Laser‐Assisted Direct Restoration of Human Enamel Using 3D Printable Biocomposite

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
The article emphasizes the application of an ultrashort pulsed laser (USPL) system and 3D‐printable biocomposites for the direct‐restoration of human enamel. This technique combines the advantages of laser technology with 3D printing, offering promising clinical potential. The 2D finite element laser‐ablative model developed in this study is consistent

Comparative microleakage outcomes of different techniques used for creating the occlusal anatomy in occlusal direct restorations using the dental operating microscope

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Dental Research, Volume 8, Issue 6, Page 1623-1629, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Objectives Microleakage in direct dental restorations is a primary causal factor in the restoration's failure. The aim of this study was to evaluate whether the technique for occlusal layering of the composite resin (the use of brush adaptation, the use of magnification, cusp build‐up, stamp technique) has any effect on microleakage of direct ...

Self‐Detecting Mid‐Infrared Dual‐Comb Spectroscopy Based on High‐Speed Injection‐Locked Quantum Cascade Lasers

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
A compact self‐detecting dual‐comb spectroscopy (DCS) system based on dispersion‐engineered, high‐speed packaged quantum cascade lasers (QCLs) at λ≈4.6 μm under coherent injection locking is demonstrated. Broad multiheterodyne comb signal with reduced tooth linewidths by orders of magnitude is recorded.

Wiring the senses: Factors that regulate peripheral axon pathfinding in sensory systems

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, Volume 252, Issue 1, Page 81-103, January 2023., 2023
Abstract Sensory neurons of the head are the ones that transmit the information about the external world to our brain for its processing. Axons from cranial sensory neurons sense different chemoattractant and chemorepulsive molecules during the journey and in the target tissue to establish the precise innervation with brain neurons and/or receptor ...

Predictability and Effectiveness of Nuvola® Aligners in Dentoalveolar Transverse Changes: A Retrospective Study

open access: yesBiomedicines, 2023
Nowadays, many people use clear aligners to address their dental issues. The efficacy of transparent dental aligners must be investigated even though they are more aesthetically pleasing, easy to use, and tidy than permanent tools.

MicroRNA-21 serves an important role during PAOO-facilitated orthodontic tooth movement

open access: yesMolecular Medicine Reports, 2020
Periodontal accelerate osteogenesis orthodontics (PAOO) is an extension of described techniques that surgically alter the alveolar bone; however, the specific mechanism underlying the technique is not completely understood.

Nanocrystal Compressive Residual Stresses: A Strategy to Strengthen the Bony Spines of Osteocytic and Anosteocytic Fish

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Advanced neoteleost fishbones, such as medaka, challenge bone adaptation strategies. While zebrafish bones contain osteocyte‐mediated porosity, medaka bones lack it, raising questions about alternative reinforcement mechanisms. Using advanced imaging, this study reveals higher residual compressive strains in medaka bone, suggesting an adaptation that ...

Biomodulation effects induced by ultrasound stimulation in periodontal cells implicated in orthodontic tooth movement: A systematic review.

open access: yesOrthodontics & craniofacial research
Accelerating orthodontic tooth movement (OTM) is increasingly important for shorter treatment times, which reduces periodontal risks, root resorption and dental caries.
