Analysis of Modification of Spur Gear Profile

open access: yes, 2018
The article presents an analysis of the modification of the toothing of spur gears. The aim of the modification of the profile on the tooth tip is to compensate for the tooth deflection under loading and to improve the conditions of gear operation. Cases

Cortical bone distribution in the human mandibular symphysis: Ontogenic and morphometric approaches in archeological context

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The human mandibular symphysis concentrates multiaxial loads during function and remodels throughout growth, but the precise mechanisms underlying cortical bone shape during growth remain relatively unexplored. Approaches based solely on thickness or external cortical contours provide only partial insights and do not capture the functional ...

Study on vibration characteristics and tooth profile modification of a plus planetary gear set [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The governing vibration differential equation of a plus planetary gear set has derived from the Lagrange method. Its three often neglected components are considered: [1] the meshing damping, [2] the elastic bearing support of the sun wheel, [3] and the ...

Description of large, well‐preserved Enchodus specimens from the Bearpaw Formation of Alberta, Canada

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Fishes of the genus Enchodus were abundant and cosmopolitan in the Late Cretaceous, but are primarily known from isolated remains in Canada. Four well‐preserved fish skulls were recovered in recent years from ammolite mines sampling the Bearpaw Formation of Southern Alberta, and are here referred to Enchodus petrosus Cope, 1874.

Arthroscopic Remplissage With Knotless All‐Suture Anchors and Concomitant Bankart Repair: Technical Considerations

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract Anterior shoulder instability is common in active patients. Traumatic dislocations may produce Bankart and Hill‐Sachs lesions that increase recurrence risk. In high‐demand individuals, isolated Bankart repair may be insufficient for off‐track or near‐track Hill‐Sachs lesions.

Tooth Surface Reconstruction and Tooth Profile Geometric Analysis of Circular Arc Tooth Trace Cylindrical Gears

open access: yes, 2019
To reconstruct the tooth surface of a circular arc tooth trace cylindrical gear (CATT gear), one needs to create an accurate 3D model and investigate geometric features of the tooth profile.

Targeting neutrophil extracellular traps in metabolic and immune niche: Nanomaterials for diabetes tissue regeneration

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
The effects of NETs on regeneration of various diabetic tissues, and strategies targeting NETs for diabetes tissue regeneration. In the diabetic environment, NETs undergo complex metabolic and immune reprogramming, leading to dynamic changes in antibacterial and proinflammatory functions, and affecting regeneration of multiple systemic tissues.

Effect of aesthetic crown lengthening on life quality and self‐esteem: 2‐year study

open access: yesClinical Advances in Periodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background A gummy smile can result from several factors, often leading to a disharmonious appearance and causing physical and psychological discomfort for the patient. This study aimed to evaluate changes in self‐esteem and quality of life for patients, as well as the recidivism rate, following aesthetic crown lengthening (ACL) surgery ...

Perigraftitis, an independent biologic complication associated with implants placed in grafted bone

open access: yesClinical Advances in Periodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Perigraftitis is a recently introduced concept describing biologic complications specifically associated with implants placed in grafted bone. It is characterized by inflammation resulting from bacterial colonization of grafted bone and/or residual graft particulates.
