Effect of denervation on healing after tooth replantation in the ferret
Acta Odontologica Scandinavica, 2001Studies have shown that the sensory nerves participate in inflammation and immune responses and possess trophic-facilitating wound healing in general. Tooth avulsion represents a pulpal and periodontal injury, and the mechanisms involved in the healing responses subsequent to replantation of teeth are still unclear.

Eleven-year follow-up of tooth replantation
The Journal of the American Dental Association, 1979An 11-year clinical and radiographic follow-up of an avulsed tooth, replanted within 15 minutes, has been presented. The periodontal membrane can be traced around the replanted central incisor, indicating the tooth is not ankylosed and is functionally attached. It is not anchored immutably to the bone.

BACKGROUND/AIM Anti-allergic drugs can inhibit the hard tissue resorption process, and due to similarities between root resorption and bone mechanisms, it can be inferred that these drugs may also control root resorption.

Tooth replantation: 11‐year follow‐up
Australian Dental Journal, 1987AbstractA 21‐year‐old Caucasian male presented with a traumatically avulsed maxillary central incisor. The tooth was replanted after being absent from the alveolus for approximately 90 minutes. The patient has been followed routinely, and there is no evidence of any pathosis after more than 11 years.

Apexification of a replanted tooth using mineral trioxide aggregate
Dental Traumatology, 2005Abstract – The most important factors determining periodontal healing after replantation of an avulsed tooth are the extra oral period and the media in which the tooth is preserved before replantation. This case report describes an adequate periodontal healing of an avulsed immature tooth replanted after 20 min of extra alveolar dry time. Vitality was

Histological evaluation of a replanted tooth retained for 49 years
Dental Traumatology, 2006Abstract – A maxillary incisor that had been replanted immediately after avulsion 49 years previously was evaluated histologically after extraction. The histological evaluation revealed resorption of the apical root surface, depositions in cement with different phases and mineral density, and histological changes in the periodontal ligament.

Intentional replantation of periodontally involved and endodontically mistreated tooth
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1986This article presents a case in which a tooth was intentionally replanted after it was endodontically mistreated; there was also a severe periodontal involvement. The unusually long period of time that the tooth survived might be attributed to a different approach to the replantation technique, such as occlusion adjustment prior to replantation ...
