Single–Tooth Osteotomy for Intention Replantation

Journal of Endodontics, 2002
The conventional replantation technique has many drawbacks. The tooth may break during extraction; thus, teeth with diverged or curved roots are not good candidates for such a procedure. The occurrence of root ankylosis after replantation, with subsequent resorption, does not permit the replanted tooth to support any additional load, such as an ...

Appropriate Terminology for the Time Elapsed From Avulsion of a Permanent Tooth to Replantation: A Scoping Review and Delphi Consensus.

Dental Traumatology
BACKGROUND The prognosis of an avulsed permanent tooth depends on the time elapsed from injury to replantation in the injured socket. Wide variability exists in the terminologies used to describe this period.

Successful Intentional Replantation of a Severely Compromised Tooth Using 3 Types of Phototherapy: A Case Report.

Photobiomodulation, photomedicine, and laser surgery
Background: Intentional replantation (IR) is an emerging and cost-effective last-resort treatment for persistent apical periodontitis. Adjunctive phototherapy for IR aims to improve the management of challenging cases by enhancing disinfection ...

Human odontoblast response to tooth replantation

The European Journal of Orthodontics, 1981
In order to study the main trends in matrix elaboration, and individual variations in these reactions, 55 human first premolars were extracted and replanted for a varying number of weeks, after which they were extracted and fixed for histological interpretation. The same extraction procedure was performed on 22 teeth which were included in the study to

Intentional Replantation in Combination with Fibroblast Growth Factor-2 Application and Orthodontic Tooth Extrusion for Periodontal Regeneration in the Treatment of Severe Endodontic-Periodontal Lesions.

The international journal of periodontics & restorative dentistry
Endodontic-periodontal lesions are characterized by the involvement of the pulp and periodontal disease in the same tooth. Despite successful root canal treatment, if the majority of bone support has been lost from periodontitis, the tooth may have a ...

Intentional Replantation of Failed Root Canal Treated Tooth

Journal of Interdisciplinary Dentistry
Intentional replantation (IR) should not be considered a treatment of last resort. Long-term studies have shown that the success rate of IR is somewhat similar to periapical surgery. It is indicated in failed endodontic cases.

Effect of denervation on healing after tooth replantation in the ferret

Acta Odontologica Scandinavica, 2001
Studies have shown that the sensory nerves participate in inflammation and immune responses and possess trophic-facilitating wound healing in general. Tooth avulsion represents a pulpal and periodontal injury, and the mechanisms involved in the healing responses subsequent to replantation of teeth are still unclear.

Eleven-year follow-up of tooth replantation

The Journal of the American Dental Association, 1979
An 11-year clinical and radiographic follow-up of an avulsed tooth, replanted within 15 minutes, has been presented. The periodontal membrane can be traced around the replanted central incisor, indicating the tooth is not ankylosed and is functionally attached. It is not anchored immutably to the bone.

Tooth replantation: 11‐year follow‐up

Australian Dental Journal, 1987
AbstractA 21‐year‐old Caucasian male presented with a traumatically avulsed maxillary central incisor. The tooth was replanted after being absent from the alveolus for approximately 90 minutes. The patient has been followed routinely, and there is no evidence of any pathosis after more than 11 years.
