Incidence and Site‐Specific Risk Factors of Jaw Osteoradionecrosis for Head and Neck Patients in the IMRT/VMAT Era: Evidence From a Large, Hospital‐Based Cohort

open access: yesHead &Neck, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Osteoradionecrosis (ORN) of the jaw remains a serious late complication of head and neck cancer (HNC) radiotherapy. Although intensity‐modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and volumetric‐modulated arc radiotherapy (VMAT) are expected to reduce ORN risk, large real‐world data in the modern era are limited.

Hyperemesis gravidarum and oral health: A scoping review

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) is a severe form of nausea and vomiting in pregnancy (NVP), associated with dehydration, nutritional deficiencies, and systemic complications. Although recurrent vomiting, altered dietary patterns, and medication effects might plausibly affect oral health, this relationship has not been comprehensively ...

Holistic bone developing microenvironment engineered apoptotic extracellular vesicles recapitulate multidimensional developmental signatures in adult and senile bone repair

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
The developing bone was identified as an M2a‐like macrophage driven immune microenvironment with multidimensional developmental signatures. hME‐ApoEVs were successfully fabricated via stimulating the M2a‐like developing microenvironment in vitro and confirmed its recapitulation of developmental features.

Tiny carriers, big impact: How Fusobacterium nucleatum extracellular vesicles drive oral diseases and beyond

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
This review explores how Fusobacterium nucleatum extracellular vesicles drive local oral diseases and distal pathologies via sophisticated cross‐compartment cross talk. It highlights the transformative potential of these “tiny carriers” as next‐generation molecular intermediaries for advanced health monitoring and innovative bio‐interventions by ...

Ordered assembly of Cas12a for better performance of CRISPR/Cas system with application to the diagnosis of dental caries

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
Here, we present a tetrahedral DNA framework (TDF)‐mediated Cas12a ordered assembly strategy. TDFs arrange CRISPR/Cas12a into ordered structures controllably, enhancing catalytic efficiency through localized Cas12a hotspots while maintaining spatial intervals to facilitate substrate diffusion.

Restoration of the Root–Filled Tooth

Primary Dental Journal, 2016
Root-filled teeth are weakened by loss of strategic tooth structure through restorative procedures and caries, rather than by the endodontic procedures. Therefore, prompt restoration is required to minimise coronal leakage and the risk of tooth fracture.

Root formation of an autotransplanted tooth

Dental Traumatology, 2009
Abstract –  Traumatic injuries with loss of anterior teeth occur more frequently in children. Treatment of the dental trauma is complex and requires a comprehensive and accurate diagnostic and treatment plan. It is also important to consider the biological, functional, esthetic, and economic aspects. The purpose of this article is to show a case report

Tooth Root Formation

Journal of Dental Health and Oral Research, 2022
The formation of the tooth crown implies dentin and pulp construction (including mantle dentin, odontoblasts, Höhl cells, and vascular, axons and pulp cells). The root formation involves acellular and cellular cementum, peripheral and central dentins. Vascular cells and nerves are located in the central part of the root, whereas the superficial layer ...
