Sensitivity and Tooth Whitening Agents
Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, 2002ABSTRACT Purpose: Three commercially available dentist‐prescribed home‐applied bleaching systems were evaluated to identify the incidence of sensitivity and to compare the efficacy of whitening the maxillary anterior teeth of 18 patients. Methods: Nite White Excel 2Z (Discus Dental), fx (Challenge Products), and Rembrandt Xtra‐Comfort (DenMat Corp ...

In‐Office Tooth Whitening: Pulpal Effects and Tooth Sensitivity Issues
Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, 2014Tooth whitening is a popular method for improving the appearance of discolored teeth. The wide range of techniques available—in‐office whitening, dentist‐supervised at‐home whitening, and over‐the‐counter whitening—reflects its popularity. The efficacy and side effects are dependent on the technique, with tooth sensitivity being the most commonly ...

The sensitivity of the developing tooth germ to systemic disturbances
Early Human Development, 1984Deciduous tooth germs were removed from 76 babies who were either stillborn or had died in infancy. Lines in enamel or dentine were identified histologically. A chronological association was found between these lines and systemic illness in the child or pregnant mother in half the cases studied.

Tooth sensitivity and efficacy of in-office bleaching in restored teeth
Journal of Dentistry, 2013The aim of this clinical trial was to evaluate efficacy (BE) and tooth sensitivity (TS) of in-office bleaching with a 35% hydrogen peroxide (HP) in patients with aesthetic restorations.Hydrogen peroxide 35% was applied in two sessions, of three 15 min applications, in 15 patients with upper anterior sound teeth (S) and 15 with aesthetic restorations (R)

Human tooth EPR dosimetry with enhanced sensitivity
Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry Letters, 1994Rapid Passage Effects were used to suppress the background signal, thus enabling low γ-radiation accumulated dose determination. Together with optimal temperature and detection conditions, the suggested approach proved to provide EPR dosimetry in the most actual dose range between 10 and 200 rad.

Incidence of tooth sensitivity after home whitening treatment
The Journal of the American Dental Association, 2002A potential side effect of dentist-dispensed home tooth-whitening systems is tooth sensitivity. The authors conducted a randomized prospective double-blind study to determine the incidence of tooth sensitivity after home whitening treatment.Fifty adult subjects used a gel containing 15 percent carbamide peroxide and 0.11 percent fluoride ion; an ...
