Externalization of Saw-Tooth Architecture in Small Serrated Polyps Implies the Presence of Methylation of IGFBP7

Digestive Diseases and Sciences, 2011
Serrated polyps have been considered to be precursors of colorectal cancer with microsatellite instability. However, the biological and/or morphological changes which occur during the course of serrated polyp to cancer remain to be elucidated.Twenty-eight colorectal serrated polyps including five mixed polyps (MP) from 20 patients were observed by ...

Mouse Serrate-1 (Jagged-1): expression in the developing tooth is regulated by epithelial-mesenchymal interactions and fibroblast growth factor-4

Development, 1997
ABSTRACT Serrate-like genes encode transmembrane ligands to Notch receptors and control cell fate decisions during development. In this report, we analyse the regulation of the mouse Serrate-1 gene during embryogenesis. The Serrate-1 gene is expressed from embryonic day 7.5 (E7.5) and expression is often observed at sites of epithelial ...

Apoptosis Index and Apoptosis-Related Antigen Expression in Serrated Adenoma of the Colorectum

The American Journal of Surgical Pathology, 2002
Serrated adenoma of the colorectum is a recently proposed entity characterized by a saw-toothed structure of hyperplastic polyp and cytologic atypia of tubular adenoma. To clarify the role of apoptosis in morphogenesis of serrated adenoma, we investigated apoptotic indices and expression of apoptosis-related antigens in the tumor cells.

Theoretical and practical investigations regarding the influence of the Serration's geometry and position on the tooth surface roughness by shaving with plunge gear cutter

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science, 2006
Surface roughness of the work gear after plunge shaving is primarily affected by the arrangement of the serrations. A mathematical model for the serration cutting edge of the plunge shaving cutter is proposed, taking into consideration the necessary hollow tooth form.

Serrated “rat tooth” bone rongeur

The American Journal of Surgery, 1966
A SERRATED “rat tooth” bone rongeur has been designed for use in spinal fusion for scoliosis.* (Fig. 1 and 2.) The rongeur is made in lengths of 7 and 9 inches, with fine or coarse serrations and with an angular or straight jaw. The serrations extend around the front in a 180 degree arc. (Fig.

Measurement of centering error of serrated-tooth indexing table

SPIE Proceedings, 1993
ABSTRACT The concept of rotation accuracy of serrated- tooth indexing table (STIT) is different fromthat of conventional rotating table, because STIT is an intermittent rotating table. The rotation accuracy of STIT is mainly measured by the centring error.
