Journal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.Alveolar ridge preservation using a bone allograft and collagen membrane significantly limited hard and soft tissue dimensional changes and promoted buccal bone gain compared with spontaneous healing in sockets with buccal dehiscence defects. This approach reduced the need for additional bone grafting, despite higher short‐term postoperative morbidity.
