TRPM4 contributes to cell death in prostate cancer tumor spheroids, and to extravasation and metastasis in a zebrafish xenograft model system

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 19, Issue 5, Page 1299-1309, May 2025.
Transient receptor potential melastatin‐4 (TRPM4) is overexpressed in prostate cancer (PCa). Knockout of TRPM4 resulted in reduced PCa tumor spheroid size and decreased PCa tumor spheroid outgrowth. In addition, lack of TRPM4 increased cell death in PCa tumor spheroids.

Cystatin A promotes the antitumor activity of T helper type 1 cells and dendritic cells in murine models of pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 19, Issue 5, Page 1452-1470, May 2025.
Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a disease with very poor prognosis due to therapeutic limitations. We investigated the antitumor effects of cystatin A (CSTA) in PDAC murine models. We are first to confirm that CSTA enhances T helper type 1‐mediated antitumor effects through promotion of dendritic cells and M1 macrophage activity. CSTA can be

Cell‐free DNA aneuploidy score as a dynamic early response marker in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
mFast‐SeqS‐based genome‐wide aneuploidy scores are concordant with aneuploidy scores obtained by whole genome sequencing from tumor tissue and can predict response to ARSI treatment at baseline and, at an early time point, to ARSI and taxanes. This assay can be easily performed at low cost and requires little input of cfDNA. Cell‐free circulating tumor

Sliced rotated sphere packing designs [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
Space-filling designs are popular choices for computer experiments. A sliced design is a design that can be partitioned into several subdesigns. We propose a new type of sliced space-filling design called sliced rotated sphere packing designs. Their full designs and subdesigns are rotated sphere packing designs.

Evaluating practitioner cyber-security attack graph configuration preferences [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Attack graphs and attack trees are a popular method of mathematically and visually rep- resenting the sequence of events that lead to a successful cyber-attack.

CRISPR targeting of FOXL2 c.402C>G mutation reduces malignant phenotype in granulosa tumor cells and identifies anti‐tumoral compounds

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 19, Issue 4, Page 1092-1116, April 2025.
FOXL2 c.402C>G mutation drives granulosa cell tumors. Using CRISPR technology, we selectively corrected this mutation, reducing malignancy and increasing sensitivity to dasatinib and ketoconazole. Transcriptomic changes revealed potential therapeutic targets, demonstrating CRISPR's promise for treating this rare ovarian cancer.

Complex System Design with Design Languages: Method, Applications and Design Principles [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
Graph-based design languages in UML (Unified Modeling Language) are presented as a method to encode and automate the complete design process and the final optimization of the product or complex system. A design language consists of a vocabulary (digital building blocks) and a set of rules (digital composition knowledge) along with an executable ...
