Curriculum Designs: Top-down or Bottom-up? —A Case Study in a Technological School of China
Competitive education around the world brings up many issues about curriculum design. In order to cultivate the ideal talents with abundant knowledge of language and specialties, it is necessary to design appropriate curricula. This comparative study has been carried out to discuss the appropriateness of curriculum designed for two parallel groups of ...

Molecular determinants of signal transduction in tropomyosin receptor kinases
Tropomyosin receptor kinases control critical neuronal functions, but how do the same receptors produce diverse cellular responses? This review explores the structural mechanisms behind Trk signaling diversity, focusing on allosteric modulation and ligand bias.

Chemotherapies such as doxorubicin can have toxic effects on healthy cardiovascular/heart tissue. Following up on a doxorubicin toxicity study in mice without tumors where nitrate water was cardioprotective (lessened toxicity), this study with tumor‐bearing mice undergoing doxorubicin treatment showed no negative effect of nitrate and nitrite on drug ...

Light activation of the photoswitchable cannabinoid ligand azo‐HU308 triggers Ca2+ influx in pancreatic β‐cells through TRPC channels, independent of CB2 cannabinoid receptors. This reveals a non‐GPCR pathway for cannabinoid modulation of β‐cell Ca2+ dynamics and establishes azo‐HU308 as an optical tool to study cannabinoid signaling through TRP ...

Autophagosome marker, LC3, is released extracellularly via several distinct pathways
This study establishes a novel HiBiT‐tagging system for ultrasensitive detection of LC3, revealing multiple pathways for its extracellular secretion. It demonstrates that LC3 is released via both autophagy‐dependent and ‐independent mechanisms, including a novel route for nonlipidated LC3‐I.

From top-down to people-centred urban recovery: a Beirut case study
Urban recovery which follows structural devastation presents a multitude of challenges. While top-down recovery approaches are relatively common, there is a growing emphasis on people-centred design, which prioritises the needs and visions of the primary
