Epidermal proteomics demonstrates Elafin as a psoriasis-specific biomarker and highlights increased anti-inflammatory activity around psoriatic plaques. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Eur Acad Dermatol Venereol
Epidermal sampling of lesional, perilesional and non‐lesional skin from psoriasis and eczema patients as well as healthy skin was used to perform an in depth proteomic analysis. IL‐36γ known to be expressed in lesional psoriasis skin was outperformed by the protease inhibitor Elafin as a disease‐specific epidermal biomarker.

Hydrophobic Interfacing of Fluorescent Membrane Probes

open access: yesChemistryEurope, Volume 1, Issue 3, November 27, 2023., 2023
Hydrophobic interfacing is shown to improve the performance of mechanosensitive fluorescent flipper probes with regard to intermembrane transfer, microdomain and subphase recognition, two‐step partitioning, and their spectroscopic signature. Abstract Fluorescent flippers have been introduced as small‐molecule probes to image membrane tension in living ...

Advances in the Chemistry of 2,4,6‐Tri(thiophen‐2‐yl)‐1,3,5‐triazine

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 12, Issue 1, January 2023., 2023
2,4,6‐tri(thiophen‐2‐yl)‐1,3,5‐triazine is a C3h‐symmetric system consisting of a donor‐acceptor (D–A) unit and its unique properties allow fine tuning of resulting systems. The s‐triazine core enhances the supramolecular interaction between different units.

Lifting‐Based Fractional Wavelet Filter: Energy‐Efficient DWT Architecture for Low‐Cost Wearable Sensors

open access: yesAdvances in Multimedia, Volume 2020, Issue 1, 2020., 2020
This paper proposes and evaluates the LFrWF, a novel lifting‐based architecture to compute the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) of images using the fractional wavelet filter (FrWF). In order to reduce the memory requirement of the proposed architecture, only one image line is read into a buffer at a time. Aside from an LFrWF version with multipliers, i.
