Efficient Spatial Keyword Search in Trajectory Databases
An increasing amount of trajectory data is being annotated with text descriptions to better capture the semantics associated with locations. The fusion of spatial locations and text descriptions in trajectories engenders a new type of top-$k$ queries ...

Unbalanced Threshold Based Distributed Data Collection Scheme in Multisink Wireless Sensor Networks
In multisink wireless sensor networks, synchronized data collection among multiple sinks is a significant and challenging task. In this paper, we propose an unbalanced threshold based distributed data collection scheme to reconstruct the synchronized ...

Any-k: Anytime Top-k Tree Pattern Retrieval in Labeled Graphs
Many problems in areas as diverse as recommendation systems, social network analysis, semantic search, and distributed root cause analysis can be modeled as pattern search on labeled graphs (also called "heterogeneous information networks" or HINs ...

Indexing Reverse Top-k Queries
We consider the recently introduced monochromatic reverse top-k queries which ask for, given a new tuple q and a dataset D, all possible top-k queries on D union {q} for which q is in the result. Towards this problem, we focus on designing indexes in two dimensions for repeated (or batch) querying, a novel but practical consideration.

Query Optimization in Distributed Database Based on Improved Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm
Query optimization is one of the key factors affecting the performance of database systems that aim to enact the query execution plan with minimum cost. Particularly in distributed database systems, due to the multiple copies of the data that are stored ...

Verifiable Top- Query Processing in Tiered Mobile Sensor Networks
Verifiable top- k query processing in tiered sensor networks, which refers to verifying the authenticity and the completeness of top- k query results received by the network owner in tiered sensor networks, has received attention in very recent years ...

Multi-PQTable for Approximate Nearest-Neighbor Search
Image retrieval or content-based image retrieval (CBIR) can be transformed into the calculation of the distance between image feature vectors. The closer the vectors are, the higher the image similarity will be.

Approximating Opaque Top-k Queries
Combining query answering and data science workloads has become prevalent. An important class of such workloads is top-k queries with a scoring function implemented as an opaque UDF - a black box whose internal structure and scores on the search domain are unavailable.

Dynamic Top-$k$ Dominating Queries
Let $\mathcal{S}$ be a dataset of $n$ 2-dimensional points. The top-$k$ dominating query aims to report the $k$ points that dominate the most points in $\mathcal{S}$. A point $p$ dominates a point $q$ iff all coordinates of $p$ are smaller than or equal to those of $q$ and at least one of them is strictly smaller.

Continuous Top-k Contour Regions Querying in Sensor Networks
Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are important parts of Internet of Things or Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS). WSNs can be seen as a new type of distributed database systems. The data query processing is very important for WSNs.
