Probing the anomalous electromagnetic dipole moments of the top quark in γp collision at the LHC, the HL-LHC and the HE-LHC

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2020
The determination of the electromagnetic dipole moments of the top quark is one of the most important goals of the top quark physics program in the collider experiments. For this reason, the top quark pair production to investigate the sensitivity on the

Top Quark Properties Measurements in CMS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Recent top quark properties measurements made with the CMS detector at the LHC are presented. The measurements summarized include spin correlation of top quark pairs, asymmetries, top quark mass, and the underlying event in top quark pair events.

Performance of pyDock in 8th CAPRI: Energy‐Based Scoring Applied to Docking and AlphaFold Models

open access: yesProteins: Structure, Function, and Bioinformatics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The 8th CAPRI edition has shown a significant evolution in the field of protein–protein complex structure prediction. We have participated in all 11 targets proposed in this edition, involving domain‐domain, protein–protein, protein‐peptide, and protein‐DNA interactions, including homo‐ and hetero‐meric interfaces.

Bottom-quark fragmentation in top-quark decay [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2002
We study the fragmentation of the b quark in top decay in NLO QCD, within the framework of perturbative fragmentation, which allows one to resum large logarithms $\sim\log (m_t^2/m_b^2)$. We show the b-energy distribution, which we compare with the exact ${\cal O} ( _S)$ result for a massive b quark.

Searching for Charged Higgs Boson in Polarized Top Quark

open access: yes, 2013
The charged Higgs boson is quite common in many new physics models. In this study we examine the potential of observing a heavy charged Higgs boson in its decay mode of top-quark and bottom-quark in the Type-II Two-Higgs-Doublet-Model. In this model, the

Plate tectonics in the microscopy realm: Molecular insights into morphological variability of Peridinium willei (Peridiniales, Dinophyceae)

open access: yesTAXON, EarlyView.
Abstract Freshwater Peridinium willei (Peridiniaceae) is globally distributed, but reports linking its morphologies with DNA sequence data remain scarce. The taxonomy of the species, and its infraspecific taxa, remain ambiguous due to the lack of DNA sequence data for the original and type material.

Differential top-quark pair production measurements

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2014
The large number of top quarks produced at the CERN Large Hadron Collider makes it possible to measure the top-quark pair production cross-section differentially with respect to different observables. Differential measurements are important for precision

Constraining top-quark couplings combining top-quark and $$\varvec{B}$$ B decay observables

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2020
We present a first, consistent combination of measurements from top-quark and B physics to constrain top-quark properties within the Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT).

Commuting by bicycle (vs. by car) is associated with improved aerobic power, microvascular function and diminished CO2 output in the atmosphere

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract The study investigated whether bicycle compared with car commuting, over relatively small distances, has positive effects on physiological variables, cardiometabolic fitness and CO2 output in the atmosphere. Bike Commuters (11 M, 15 F; age [median value (interquartile range)] 51.5 (38.3–56.8) years; body mass index [BMI] 22.8 (21.0–24.1) kg m ...

Top-Quark Mass and Bottom-Quark Decay [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 1983
The possibility of a long B-meson lifetime is explored, in which case the weak mixing angles θ_2 and θ_3 are quite small. This allows the derivation of a lower bound on the top-quark mass as a function of the B-meson lifetime, by comparison of the short-distance prediction for the CP-nonconservation parameter e with its experimental value. The bound is
