Bottom-quark fragmentation in top-quark decay [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2002
We study the fragmentation of the b quark in top decay in NLO QCD, within the framework of perturbative fragmentation, which allows one to resum large logarithms $\sim\log (m_t^2/m_b^2)$. We show the b-energy distribution, which we compare with the exact ${\cal O} ( _S)$ result for a massive b quark.

Top-Quark Mass and Bottom-Quark Decay [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 1983
The possibility of a long B-meson lifetime is explored, in which case the weak mixing angles θ_2 and θ_3 are quite small. This allows the derivation of a lower bound on the top-quark mass as a function of the B-meson lifetime, by comparison of the short-distance prediction for the CP-nonconservation parameter e with its experimental value. The bound is

On the top-quark width measurement using a combination of resonant and non resonant cross sections.

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2017
Top quark width measurement is important and complex task. Most measurements are done in assumption of the SM top quark interactions. We would like to discuss model independent way of measuring the top quark width.

Measurement of the jet mass in highly boosted $${\mathrm{t}}\overline{\mathrm{t}}$$ t t ¯ events from pp collisions at $$\sqrt{s}=8$$ s = 8 $$\,\text {TeV}$$ TeV

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2017
The first measurement of the jet mass $$m_{\text {jet}}$$ m jet of top quark jets produced in $${\mathrm{t}}\overline{\mathrm{t}} $$ t t ¯ events from pp collisions at $$\sqrt{s}=8$$ s = 8 $$\,\text {TeV}$$ TeV is reported for the jet with the largest ...

Measurements of differential cross sections of top quark pair production in association with jets in pp collisions at s = 13 $$ \sqrt{s}=13 $$ TeV using the ATLAS detector

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
Measurements of differential cross sections of top quark pair production in association with jets by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC are presented. The measurements are performed as functions of the top quark transverse momentum, the transverse momentum ...

Quantum entanglement and top spin correlations in SMEFT at higher orders

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
We present the first analysis of top spin polarizations, t t ¯ $$ t\overline{t} $$ spin correlations, and t t ¯ $$ t\overline{t} $$ spin entanglement at the LHC in the context of the Standard Model Effective Field Theory, that goes beyond Leading Order ...

Top quark physics at the LHC

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2014
In 2011, an integrated luminosity of more than 5 fb−1 at 7 TeV has been delivered by the LHC. The measurement of the cross section in top quark pair production and in single top quark production, top quark mass, top quark properties and new physics ...

Top quark physics in hadron collisions

open access: yes, 2005
The top quark is the heaviest elementary particle observed to date. Its large mass makes the top quark an ideal laboratory to test predictions of perturbation theory concerning heavy quark production at hadron colliders.

TOP 2014: Experimental Summary

open access: yes, 2015
A summary of the experimental results of the TOP2014 International Workshop in Cannes, France, is presented. This inspiring conference clearly showed the richness and diversity of top-quark physics research.
