Assessing the potential of TOPCon solar cells architecture using industrial n-type cast-mono silicon material

open access: yesEPJ Photovoltaics
Cast-mono silicon material is interesting for its lower carbon footprint compared to Czochralski (Cz) monocrystalline silicon. However, solar cells fabricated using cast-mono (CM) silicon show lower performances.

Erythrocyte Membrane Protein 3 (EMAP3) Is Exposed on the Surface of the Plasmodium berghei Infected Red Blood Cell

open access: yesMolecular Microbiology, EarlyView.
Erythrocyte membrane protein 3 (EMAP3) is a novel Plasmodium berghei protein that is trafficked to the outer membrane surface of the infected red blood cell (iRBC). EMAP3 is not critical for parasite growth or sequestration but offers a new scaffold for displaying Plasmodium falciparum proteins on iRBCs.

From Aid Dependency to Self‐Reliance: Lessons From Sierra Leone and Rwanda's Strategies for Eliminating Preventable Blindness in Africa: A Perspective Study

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Preventable blindness remains a leading cause of disability in low‐income countries (LICs), with 91.5% of cases in Sierra Leone and 83.9% in Rwanda considered avoidable. Reliance on foreign aid has supported eye care development in Africa, yet has also fostered systemic dependency.

A randomised controlled trial on cross‐linking protocols for the treatment of progressive keratoconus using isoosmolar and hypoosmolar riboflavin with the addition of sterile water in thin corneae

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, Volume 104, Issue 1, Page e63-e74, February 2026.
Abstract Purpose To present the outcomes of a randomised clinical trial for the treatment of progressive keratoconus using different kinds of riboflavin and the addition of sterile water in thin corneae. Methods A randomised study using epithelium‐off corneal cross‐linking (CXL) with continuous UVA irradiance 9 mW/cm2 for 10 min (total fluence 5.4 J ...
