Optimizing selection efficiency in maize for the drought prone eastern and southern African environments [PDF]
Breeding for stress tolerance is the most cost effective way of avoiding drought-induced yield reduction in the tropics. Optimizing breeding for drought tolerance at CIMMYT could enhance the effectiveness of this multi-national breeding program and ...

Inheritance of the Panical Lenght in Hybrid Obtained by Top-Cross in Rice (Oryza sativa L.)
Subject of investigation are ten rice varieties (Oryza sativa L.) and their F1 and F2 generation hybrids obtained by top-cross, where two varieties (Monticelli and Loto) are used as a father, and eight varieties as a mother (M-101, Drago, Osogovka, Oanda,

Measurement methods and variability assessment of the Norway spruce total leaf area: implications for remote sensing [PDF]
Estimation of total leaf area (LAT) is important to express biochemical properties in plant ecology and remote sensing studies. A measurement of LAT is easy in broadleaf species, but it remains challenging in coniferous canopies.

S1 value combined with topcross value for forage maize selection
Dans le cadre d’un cycle de sélection récurrente appliqué à quatre populations de maïs fourrage, les descendances S1 et les descendances en croisement avec un testeur hybride simple des plantes candidates à la sélection ont été récoltées en plante entière.
