Rheological properties of topical fluoride gels
Dental Materials, 1989The rheological properties of several commercial topical fluoride gels were studied. For that purpose, we investigated hysteresis loops under standard conditions, equilibrium values, apparent viscosities as a function of shear rate, rate of thixotropic recovery, and the influence of temperature.

2023Fluoride is present in natural water sources and occurs as an ionic form of fluorine trace element. It is a safe and effective agent used primarily to prevent dental caries, especially in children. Fluoride Uptake and Retention in vitro Following Topical Fluoride Applications
Journal of Dental Research, 1983Fluoride uptake and retention on maxillary and mandibular incisors were compared using a conventional APF gel, a thixotropic gel, and a new pluronic-based fluoride gel. Based on the results of in vivo acid-etch biopsies, significant fluoride uptake was obtained with each of the three agents.
