Separating Topological Noise from Features Using Persistent Entropy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Topology is the branch of mathematics that studies shapes and maps among them. From the algebraic definition of topology a new set of algorithms have been derived.

Emergence of intrinsic superconductivity below 1.178 K in the topologically non-trivial semimetal state of CaSn3 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Topological materials which are also superconducting are of great current interest, since they may exhibit a non-trivial topologically-mediated superconducting phase.

A weakly Stegall space that is not a Stegall space [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
A topological space X is said to belong to the class of Stegall (weakly Stegall) spaces if for every Baire (complete metric) space B and minimal usco φ : B2X, φ is single-valued at some point of B.

Angular momentum and topological dependence of Kepler's Third Law in the Broucke-Hadjidemetriou-H\'enon family of periodic three-body orbits

open access: yes, 2016
We use 57 recently found topological satellites of Broucke-Hadjidemetriou-Henon's periodic orbits with values of the topological exponent $k$ ranging from $k$ = 3 to $k$ = 58 to plot the angular momentum $L$ as a function of the period $T$, with both $L$

Surface and bulk components of electrical conductivity in the (presumably special topological) Kondo insulator SmB6 at lowest temperatures

open access: yes, 2014
Samarium hexaboride (SmB6) has recently been considered to be a topological Kondo insulator (TKI), the first strongly correlated electron system to exhibit topological surface conduction states.

Essential curves in handlebodies and topological contractions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
If $X$ is a compact set, a {\it topological contraction} is a self-embedding $f$ such that the intersection of the successive images $f^k(X)$, $k>0$, consists of one point.

Superconductivity and non-metallicity induced by doping the topological insulators Bi2Se3 and Bi2Te3

open access: yes, 2010
We show that by Ca-doping the Bi2Se3 topological insulator, the Fermi level can be fine tuned to fall inside the band gap and therefore suppress the bulk conductivity. Non-metallic Bi2Se3 crystals are obtained.

Topological Insulators in Ternary Compounds with a Honeycomb Lattice

open access: yes, 2010
One of the most exciting subjects in solid state physics is a single layer of graphite which exhibits a variety of unconventional novel properties. The key feature of its electronic structure are linear dispersive bands which cross in a single point at ...

Highly Transitive Actions of Surface Groups [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A group action is said to be highly-transitive if it is $k$-transitive for every $k \ge 1$. The main result of this thesis is the following: Main Theorem: The fundamental group of a closed, orientable surface of genus > 1 admits a faithfull, highly ...

Topological Hall effect in thin films of Mn$_{1.5}$PtSn

open access: yes, 2018
Spin chirality in metallic materials with non-coplanar magnetic order can give rise to a Berry phase induced topological Hall effect. Here, we report the observation of a large topological Hall effect in high-quality films of Mn$_{1.5}$PtSn that were ...
