On Multilevel Energy‐Based Fragmentation Methods

open access: yesInternational Journal of Quantum Chemistry, Volume 126, Issue 3, January 30, 2026.
We investigate the working equations of energy‐based fragmentation methods and present ML‐SUPANOVA, a Möbius‐inversion‐based multilevel fragmentation scheme that enables adaptive, quasi‐optimal truncations to efficiently approximate Born‐Oppenheimer potentials across hierarchies of electronic‐structure methods and basis sets.

Schwartz functions on Nash manifolds

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper we extend the notions of Schwartz functions, tempered functions and generalized Schwartz functions to Nash (i.e. smooth semi-algebraic) manifolds.

A Survey of SIR‐Based Differential Epidemic Models for Control and Security Against Malware Propagation in Computer Networks

open access: yesSECURITY AND PRIVACY, Volume 9, Issue 1, January/February 2026.
ABSTRACT Unarguably, malware and their variants have metamorphosed into objects of attack and cyber warfare. These issues have directed research focus to modeling infrastructural settings and infection scenarios, analyzing propagation mechanisms, and conducting studies that highlight optimized remedial measures.

Calculation Method for Magnetic Saturation Current of Shunt Reactors Under Oscillation in Renewable Energy Power Systems

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission &Distribution, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
The paper proposes a piecewise analytical method for calculating the winding current and the neutral reactor current under oscillatory conditions in renewable energy power systems. The method is based on the operational state of the core magnetic circuit, where the nonlinear magnetisation curve is approximated by piecewise linear segments with the ...

Affine‐Image‐Driven and Finite‐Time Stable Formation Control for Multi‐AUV Systems With Unknown Complex Disturbances: A Geometric Perspective

open access: yesIET Signal Processing, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Formation control of multi‐autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) systems is essential for collaborative ocean tasks such as environmental monitoring and resource exploration, but it is hindered by challenges like limited flexibility in formation transformation, model uncertainties, and unknown ocean current disturbances.

Catching homologies by geometric entropy

open access: yes, 2017
A geometric entropy is defined as the Riemannian volume of the parameter space of a statistical manifold associated with a given network. As such it can be a good candidate for measuring networks complexity.

Where Mathematical Symbols Come From

open access: yesTopics in Cognitive Science, Volume 18, Issue 1, Page 169-186, January 2026.
Abstract There is a sense in which the symbols used in mathematical expressions and formulas are arbitrary. After all, arithmetic would be no different if we would replace the symbols ‘+$+$’ or ‘8’ by different symbols. Nevertheless, the shape of many mathematical symbols is in fact well motivated in practice.

Splitting the difference: Computations of the Reynolds operator in classical invariant theory

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 58, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract If G$G$ is a linearly reductive group acting rationally on a polynomial ring S$S$, then the inclusion SG↪S$S^{G} \hookrightarrow S$ possesses a unique G$G$‐equivariant splitting, called the Reynolds operator. We describe algorithms for computing the Reynolds operator for the classical actions as in Weyl's book.
