Extendibility, monodromy, and local triviality for topological groupoids

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2001
A groupoid is a small category in which each morphism has an inverse. A topological groupoid is a groupoid in which both sets of objects and morphisms have topologies such that all maps of groupoid structure are continuous.

Block Copolymers: Emerging Building Blocks for Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review addresses how block copolymer (BCP) physics and rheology have led to the widespread use of BCPs in advanced additive manufacturing techniques, with particular emphasis on the untapped potential of these nanostructured materials toward achieving multi‐scale architected materials with unique, programmable material properties.

Predicting Atomic Charges in MOFs by Topological Charge Equilibration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An atomic charge prediction method is presented that is able to accurately reproduce ab‐initio‐derived reference charges for a large number of metal–organic frameworks. Based on a topological charge equilibration scheme, static charges that fulfill overall neutrality are quickly generated.

On some topological invariants for morphisms defined in homological spheres

open access: yesApplied General Topology, 2015
In the paper one defines topological invariants of type degree for morphisms in the category Top₍₂₎ of topological pairs of spaces and continuous single valued maps, which admit homological n-spheres as target and arbitrary topological pairs of spaces as

Bio‐Inspired Molecular Events in Poly(Ionic Liquids)

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Originating from dipolar and polar inter‐ and intra‐chain interactions of the building blocks, the topologies and morphologies of poly(ionic liquids) (PIL) govern their nano‐ and micro‐processibility. Modulating the interactions of cation‐anion pairs with aliphatic dipolar components enables the tunability of properties, facilitated by “bottom‐up ...

T 2 -objects in topological categories

open access: yesActa Mathematica Hungarica, 1996
The authors continue the study of various separation axioms in topological categories introduced in earlier papers of the first named author [Indian J. Pure Appl. Math. 23, No. 5, 333-341 (1992; Zbl 0767.54014); Commentat. Math. Univ. Carol. 34, No. 2, 383-395 (1993; Zbl 0780.18003)].

Sobriety and Localic Compactness in Categories of L-Bitopological Spaces

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2007
The notions of L-sobriety and L-spatiality are introduced for the category L-BiTop of L-bitopological spaces. Such notions are used to extend the known adjunction between the category L-Top of L-topological spaces and the category Loc of locals to one ...

Artificial Intelligence as the Next Visionary in Liquid Crystal Research

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The functions of AI in the research laboratory are becoming increasingly sophisticated, allowing the entire process of hypothesis formulation, material design, synthesis, experimental design, and reiterative testing to be automated. In our work, we conceive how the incorporation of AI in the laboratory environment will transform the role and ...

Convenient categories for topology

open access: yesGeneral Topology and its Applications, 1973
AbstractThe paper begins with a general construction of a coreflective subcategory of an epireflective subcategory of TOP. Such a category is called convenient if it is generated by a class of compact Hausdorff spaces and satisfies certain conditions, k-spaces and sequential spaces from convenient categories.
