LOCATING PERIODIC ORBITS BY TOPOLOGICAL DEGREE THEORY

open access: yesLibration Point Orbits and Applications, 2003
We consider methods based on the topological degree theory to compute periodic orbits of area preserving maps. Numerical approximations of the Kronecker integral and the application of Stenger's method allows us to compute the value of the topological degree in a bounded region of the phase space.

Guiding potential method for differential inclusions with nonlocal conditions

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2015
This article shows the existence of solutions to some nonlocal initial-value problems for differential inclusions. The guiding potential method is used and the topological degree theory for admissible multivalued vector fields is applied.

Multifunctional Microstructured Surfaces by Microcontact Printing of Reactive Microgels

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Reactive poly(N‐vinylcaprolactam‐co‐glycidyl methacrylate) microgels are used as functional inks to create surface‐grafted arrays on glass via microcontact printing. The patterns (10–50 µm widths and spacings) enable stable binding and post‐functionalization with dyes and peptides.

Boundary and initial value problems for second-order neutral functional differential equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2006
In this paper, we consider the three-point boundary-value problem for the second order neutral functional differential equation $$ u''+ f(t,u_t, u'(t))= 0, quad 0 leq tleq 1, $$ with the three-point boundary condition $u_0= phi$, $u(1) = u ...

Topological degree theory in fuzzy metric spaces [PDF]

open access: yesArchivum Mathematicum, 2019
Summary: The aim of this paper is to modify the theory to fuzzy metric spaces, a natural extension of probabilistic ones. More precisely, the modification concerns fuzzily normed linear spaces, and, after defining a fuzzy concept of completeness, fuzzy Banach spaces. After discussing some properties of mappings with compact images, we define the (Leray-
