Strong coupling of topological edge states enabling group-dispersionless slow light in magneto-optical photonic crystals

Physical review B, 2019
We investigate a two-way waveguide constructed by bringing close two identical magneto-optical photonic crystals which each supports a counterpropagating topological one-way edge state.

Subgroups of Free Topological Groups and Free Topological Products of Topological Groups [PDF]

open access: possibleJournal of the London Mathematical Society, 1975
Introduction Our objectives are topological versions of the Nielsen-Schreier Theorem on subgroups of free groups, and the Kurosh Theorem on subgroups of free products of groups. It is known that subgroups of free topological groups need not be free topological [2, 6, and 9].

On Topologized Fundamental Groups and Covering Groups of Topological Groups

Iranian Journal of Science and Technology, Transactions A: Science, 2020
We show that every topological group is a strong small loop transfer space at the identity element. This implies that for a connected locally path connected topological group G, the universal path space $$\widetilde{G}_{e}$$ equipped with the quotient ...

The Topology of Free Topological Groups

Journal of Mathematical Sciences, 2005
This paper deals with the notion of the free topological group \(F(X)\) in the sense of Markov and with the topological Abelian group \(A(X)\) which is generated by a Tikhonov space \(X\). A variety of results is presented to demonstrate how useful explicit descriptions of the topologies on these groups are.

Reflexivity of topological groups [PDF]

open access: possibleProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1977
It is shown that under mild conditions the path-component of the identity in the dual group G ∅ ^ G\hat \emptyset of an Abelian topological group G is precisely the union of the one-parameter subgroups of G ∅ ^

Topological Groups

2003
Publisher Summary A topology τ on a group G is a group topology, if the group operations (x,)↦ y (multiplication) and x↦x−1 (inverse) are continuous, when G × G carries the product topology. If H is a subgroup of G, then every group topology on G induces a group topology on H.

WAVELETS ON TOPOLOGICAL GROUPS

Russian Academy of Sciences. Izvestiya Mathematics, 1995
The author remarks that classical wavelets on \(\mathbb{R}\) are connected in an essential way with the group operations and the structure of \(\mathbb{R}\) [see \textit{A. Grossmann} and \textit{J. Morlet}, SIAM J. Math. Anal. 15, 723-736 (1984; Zbl 0578.42007)].
