Complementary Topological Indices

An edge of a graph can be geometrically represented by points (dr, ds) and (ds,dr) in a 2D coordinate system, where coordinates are, obviously, the degrees of the edge’s end-vertices. Recently, using such a geometrical point of view of a graph edge, a couple of topological invariants were put forward.

On topological charge indices of graphs

Summary: We introduce a fast method of computing the topological charge indices of simple graphs (molecules) which does not require matrices of large sizes. For the case of trees, we give a compact formula and in the general case we obtain upper and lower bounds for the charge indices.

Generalization of topological indices

A generalized (molecular) graph-theoretical matrix is introduced in such a way that the adjacency and distance matrices of (molecular) graphs are particular cases of it. By using this matrix, two new molecular graph-theoretical vectors and a vector–matrix–vector multiplication procedure, a generalized invariant is introduced.

Relation between Distance-Based Topological Indices

The pi-index of the line graph of the molecular graph of an alkane is shown to be related to the pi, Harary, and reciprocal Wiener indices of that alkane. Thus a mathematical relation between several distance-based topological indices is obtained.
