Hyperbolic photonic topological insulators [PDF]
Topological photonics provides a new degree of freedom to robustly control electromagnetic fields. To date, most of established topological states in photonics have been employed in Euclidean space.

Intrinsic magnetic topological insulators [PDF]
Introducing magnetism into topological insulators breaks time-reversal symmetry, and the magnetic exchange interaction can open a gap in the otherwise gapless topological surface states.

Berry phase theory of planar Hall effect in topological insulators
The appearance of negative longitudinal magnetoresistance (LMR) in topological semimetals such as Weyl and Dirac semimetals is understood as an effect of chiral anomaly, whereas such an anomaly is not well-defined in topological insulators. Nevertheless,

Topological insulators are electronic materials that have a bulk band gap like an ordinary insulator, but have protected conducting states on their edge or surface. The 2D topological insulator is a quantum spin Hall insulator, which is a close cousin of

Visualization of spin-polarized surface resonances in Pb-based ternary topological insulators [PDF]
The formation of the topological surface state originates from bulk band inversion at the top of the valence band and the bottom of the conduction band.

Dispersion properties of artifi cial topological insulators based on an infi nite double-periodic array of elliptical quartz elements [PDF]
Subject and Purpose. Special features of all-dielectric electromagnetic analogues of topological insulators (TI) in the microwave range are considered, aiming at studying the influence of geometrical and constitutive parameters of TI elements on the ...

Topologically Localized Insulators
We show that fully-localized, three-dimensional, time-reversal-symmetry-broken insulators do not belong to a single phase of matter but can realize topologically distinct phases that are labelled by integers. The phase transition occurs only when the system becomes conducting at some filling.

Topological Insulator Metamaterials
Confinement of electromagnetic fields at the subwavelength scale via metamaterial paradigms is an established method to engineer light-matter interaction in most common material systems, from insulators to semiconductors, from metals to superconductors.

Fractional Topological Insulators [PDF]
We analyze generalizations of two dimensional topological insulators which can be realized in interacting, time reversal invariant electron systems. These states, which we call fractional topological insulators, contain excitations with fractional charge and statistics in addition to protected edge modes.

Zeros of Green functions in topological insulators
This study demonstrates that the zeros of the diagonal components of Green functions are key quantities that can detect noninteracting topological insulators. We show that zeros of the Green functions traverse the band gap in the topological phases.
