Model Theory Methods for Topological Groups [PDF]

open access: yesThe Bulletin of Symbolic Logic, 2018
This thesis gathers different works approaching subjects of topological dynamics by means of logic and descriptive set theory, and conversely. The first part is devoted to the study of Roelcke precompact Polish groups, which are the same as the automorphism groups of $\aleph_0$-categorical structures.

Topological Quantum Field Theory and the Geometric Langlands Correspondence [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In the pioneering work of A. Kapustin and E. Witten, the geometric Langlands program of number theory was shown to be intimately related to duality of GL-twisted N=4 super Yang-Mills theory compactified on a Riemann surface. In this thesis, we generalize

Algorithmic graph theory, reinforcement learning and game theory in MD simulations: from 3D-structures to topological 2D-MolGraphs and backwards

open access: yes, 2022
This paper reviews graph theory-based methods that were recently developed in our group for post-processing molecular dynamics trajectories. We show that the use of algorithmic graph theory not only provides a direct and fast methodology to ...

On the topological theory of Group Equivariant Non-Expansive Operators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
In this thesis we aim to provide a general topological and geometrical framework for group equivariance in the machine learning context. A crucial part of this framework is a synergy between persistent homology and the theory of group actions.

Topological and Geometric Methods in Group Theory

open access: yesOberwolfach Reports, 2007
The focus of this meeting was the use of topological and geometric methods to study infinite discrete groups. These methods are increasingly being supplemented by powerful new techniques from analysis. Key topics included group actions on CAT(0) and tree-like spaces, filling invariants, cohomology, K-theory and

Klein Topological Field Theories from Group Representations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We show that any complex (respectively real) representation of finite group naturally generates a open-closed (respectively Klein) topological field theory over complex numbers.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Topological Complexity of Configuration Spaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this thesis we study the homotopy invariant TC(X); the topological complexity of a space X. This invariant, introduced by Farber in [15], was originally motivated by a problem in Robotics; the motion planning problem.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in
