Stability theory for topological logic, with applications to topological modules

Journal of Symbolic Logic, 1986
In this paper I show how to develop stability theory within the context of the topological logic first introduced by McKee [Mc 76], Garavaglia [G 78] and Ziegler [Z 76]. I then study some specific applications to topological modules; in particular I prove two quantifier élimination theorems, one a generalization of a result of Garavaglia. In the first ...

∆Σ Modulator Topologies

1999
Analog-to-Digital conversion is an essential function in modern digital signal processing systems. A number of different implementation techniques for A/D converters exist. From these, ∆Σ modulators provide an efficient way of trading off speed for resolution and at the same time are quite insensitive to component mismatches.

Topological Ordered Modules

Lobachevskii Journal of Mathematics
Sufficient conditions are found for the order topology on an ordered module over an ordered ring to be a module topology.More concretely, if $M$ is an ordered module over a topological unital ordered ring such that $M^+\neq \{0\}$, $M^+\backslash\{0\}$ is downward directed, $0\in \cl\left(M^+\backslash\{0\}\right)$, and the module ordering is strong ...

The Zariski Topology on the Second Spectrum of a Module

Algebra Colloquium, 2014
Let R be a commutative ring and M be an R-module. The second spectrum Spec s(M) of M is the collection of all second submodules of M. We topologize Spec s(M) with Zariski topology, which is analogous to that for Spec (M), and investigate this topological space.

TOPOLOGICAL TILTING MODULES

Communications in Algebra, 2001
ABSTRACT We prove a generalization to the context of topological tilting modules of the fact that a tilting module is faithfully balanced and also a tilting module over its endomorphism ring. Some applications are given, notably the extension of Ext and Tor functors defined by topological tilting modules to the category of locally -compact modules.

On module bundles and topological K-theory

Rendiconti del Circolo Matematico di Palermo, 2008
The ordinary topological \(K\)-group \(K(X)\) of a space \(X\) is usually defined as the Grothendieck group of the set of certain equivalence classes of vector bundles over \(X\), and as a matter of course every fibre of these vector bundles is supposed to be a finite-dimensional topological linear space.

Functional equivalence of topological spaces and topological modules

2016
Let $R$ be a topological ring and $E$, $F$ be unitary topological $R$-modules. Denote by $C_p(X,E)$ the class of all continuous mappings of $X$ into $E$ in the topology of pointwise convergence. The spaces $X$ and $Y$ are called $l_p(E,F)$-equivalent if the topological $R$-modules $C_p(X,E)$ and $C_p(Y,F)$ are topological isomorphic ...
