Topological Quantum Phase Transition and Local Topological Order in a Strongly Interacting Light-Matter System

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
An attempt is made to understand the topological quantum phase transition, emergence of relativistic modes and local topological order of light in a strongly interacting light-matter system.

Towards a quantum theory of solitons

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2015
We formulate a quantum coherent state picture for topological and non-topological solitons. We recognize that the topological charge arises from the infinite occupation number of zero momentum quanta flowing in one direction.

Fate of fractional quantum Hall states in open quantum systems: Characterization of correlated topological states for the full Liouvillian

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2020
Despite previous extensive analysis of open quantum systems described by the Lindblad equation, it is unclear whether correlated topological states, such as fractional quantum Hall states, are maintained even in the presence of the jump term.

Optimizing Clifford gate generation for measurement-only topological quantum computation with Majorana zero modes

open access: yesSciPost Physics, 2020
One of the main challenges for quantum computation is that while the number of gates required to perform a non-trivial quantum computation may be very large, decoherence and errors in realistic quantum architectures limit the number of physical gate ...

Some questions concerning Majorana fermions in 2D ( p + ip $\text{p}+\text{ip}$ ) Fermi superfluids

open access: yesQuantum Frontiers, 2022
Most of the discussion in the literature of the Majorana fermions (M.F.’s) believed to exist in so-called 2D p + ip $\text{p}+\text{ip}$ Fermi superfluids, and in particular of their possible application in topological quantum computing (TQC) has ...

Dynamical Topological Order Parameters far from Equilibrium [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We introduce a topological quantum number -- coined dynamical topological order parameter (DTOP) -- that is dynamically defined in the real-time evolution of a quantum many-body system and represented by a momentum space winding number of the ...

Charges and Electromagnetic Radiation as Topological Excitations

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, 2017
We discuss a model with stable topological solitons in Minkowski space with only three degrees of freedom, the rotational angles of a spatial Dreibein. This model has four types of solitons differing in two topological quantum numbers which we identify ...

Determination of topological edge quantum numbers of fractional quantum Hall phases by thermal conductance measurements

open access: yesNature Communications, 2022
AbstractTo determine the topological quantum numbers of fractional quantum Hall (FQH) states hosting counter-propagating (CP) downstream (Nd) and upstream (Nu) edge modes, it is pivotal to study quantized transport both in the presence and absence of edge mode equilibration. While reaching the non-equilibrated regime is challenging for charge transport,

Stacking-dependent topological quantum states in bilayer Mn_{2}Cl_{3}Br_{3}

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2023
Stacking-dependent physics is emerging as a fascinating research topic for two-dimensional materials. A variety of novel properties can be achieved by layer stacking according to different modes.

Switchable quantum anomalous and spin Hall effects in honeycomb magnet EuCd2As2

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2022
Creating and engineering the topological features of intrinsic magnets are essential for topological spintronic applications. Here, we propose a material platform to realize the switchable topological phase transition between quantum anomalous Hall (QAH)
