A convenient category for directed homotopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We propose a convenient category for directed homotopy consisting of preordered topological spaces generated by cubes. Its main advantage is that, like the category of topological spaces generated by simplices suggested by J. H.

On the commutativity of the powerspace constructions

open access: yes, 2019
We investigate powerspace constructions on topological spaces, with a particular focus on the category of quasi-Polish spaces. We show that the upper and lower powerspaces commute on all quasi-Polish spaces, and show more generally that this ...

Green Multicomponent Alloys with Excellent Multifunctional and Mechanical Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A sustainable strategy for developing multifunctional green multicomponent alloys (MCAs) using cheap scrap materials is demonstrated. The developed green MCAs with disordered–ordered structures enable a joint regulation of dislocation behavior, scattering of conduction electrons, and motion of magnetic domain walls, leading to high strength and ...

The topological resolution of a finite closure space [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
For every finite closure space $X$ one can define a finite topological space $\operatorname{Top} X$ together with a natural projection $\operatorname{Top} X\longrightarrow X$. This could allow to apply the techniques of topological combinatorics to the study of finite closure spaces.

Spectral Radii of Bounded Operators on Topological Vector Spaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
In this paper we develop a version of spectral theory for bounded linear operators on topological vector spaces. We show that the Gelfand formula for spectral radius and Neumann series can still be naturally interpreted for operators on topological ...

On topological spaces of orders

open access: yesTopology and its Applications, 2009
AbstractWe study the space of linear orders on a given set X, denoted by Op(X), endowed with the topology of pointwise convergence. We show, in particular, that if |X|=ω1 or |X|=ω0 then Op(X) is homeomorphic to 2ω1 and 2ω0, respectively.

Geometry‐Assisted Phase Selection: Interplay of Phase Heterogeneity and Geometry in Gyroid Shell Metamaterials Printed with 17‐4 PH Stainless Steel

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores geometry‐driven phase evolution in gyroid shell metamaterials made via laser powder bed fusion of 17‐4 precipitation hardened stainless steel. Locally hardened regions develop along the primary loading paths in the structure, which finite element analysis and geometric considerations link to enhanced gyroid strength.

Sierpinski Objects in the Category IVIF-TOP and Its Related Categories IVF-TOP and IF-TOP

open access: yesFuzzy Information and Engineering, 2014
We identify a Sierpinski object in each of the three categories of interval-valued I-fuzzy topological spaces, interval-valued fuzzy topological spaces, and I-fuzzy topological spaces and, among other things, use these to characterize them and their ...

Embedding of partially ordered topological spaces in Fell topological hyperspaces [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
In this paper, we prove a theorem about embedding of some partially ordered topological spaces in topological hyperspaces equipped with Fell topology. Then we give some examples to show that the map defining the embedding may not be continuous with respect to Vietoris topology or Hausdorff topology equipped on the hyperspaces.

The fundamental group as a topological group [PDF]

open access: yesTopology Appl. 160 (2013) 170-188, 2010
This paper is devoted to the study of a natural group topology on the fundamental group which remembers local properties of spaces forgotten by covering space theory and weak homotopy type. It is known that viewing the fundamental group as the quotient of the loop space often fails to result in a topological group; we use free topological groups to ...
