Adaptive topology optimization
Structural Optimization, 1995Topology optimization of continuum structures is often reduced to a material distribution problem. Up to now this optimization problem has been solved following a rigid scheme. A design space is parametrized by design patches, which are fixed during the optimization process and are identical to the finite element discretization.

Multidiscipline topology optimization
Computers & Structures, 1997Abstract Topology optimization is used for determining the best layout of structural components to achieve predetermined performance goals. The density method which uses material density of each finite element as the design variable, is employed. Unlike the most common approach which uses the optimality criteria methods, the topology design problem ...

Topology optimization approaches
Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization, 2013Topology optimization has undergone a tremendous development since its introduction in the seminal paper by Bendsoe and Kikuchi in 1988. By now, the concept is developing in many different directions, including “density”, “level set”, “topological derivative”, “phase field”, “evolutionary” and several others. The paper gives an overview, comparison and

Optomechanical Engineering 2019, 2019
Topology optimization is a design technique that evaluates and determines the optimal material distribution, within a domain, given an objective function and constraint. For the flat, round mirror in this report, the objective function is to obtain maximum stiffness while minimizing the mass.

Metalens Topology Optimization
Inquiry@Queen's Undergraduate Research Conference ProceedingsPhotonic metasurfaces are thin optical elements comprised of structures arranged strategically upon a surface to manipulate electromagnetic waves. To produce metasurfaces at a large scale, it is beneficial to obtain not just an optimal design, but also an understanding of which areas of the metasurface are most influential on the overall performance of
