A Case‐Based Reasoning Approach to Model Manufacturing Constraints for Impact Extrusion
A hybrid modeling approach is presented that combines constraint‐based process modeling and case‐based reasoning. The model formalizes manufacturing constraints and integrates simulation data to model complex manufacturing processes. The approach supports manufacturability analysis during product design through an adaptive modeling environment.

Bioinspired Design of Isotropic Lattices with Tunable and Controllable Anisotropy
This study introduces nested isotropic lattices, integrating architectural elements like nesting orders and orientations inspired by bioarchitectures. The design enables tunable anisotropy across nine mono‐nest and twenty multi‐nest lattices with 252 parametric variations, demonstrating transitions from shear‐ to tensile‐compression‐dominant behaviors ...

Convolutional Neural Network-based Topology Optimization (CNN-TO) By Estimating Sensitivity of Compliance from Material Distribution [PDF]
This paper proposes a new topology optimization method that applies a convolutional neural network (CNN), which is one deep learning technique for topology optimization problems. Using this method, we acquire a structure with a little higher performance that could not be obtained by the previous topology optimization method.

Using novel probe‐based metrics, this study evaluates lattice structures on criteria critical to cellular solid optimization. Triply‐periodic minimal surface (TPMS) lattices outperform other lattices, offering more predictable mechanical behavior in complex design spaces and, as a result, higher performance in optimized models.

Optimal circulant graphs as low-latency network topologies [PDF]
Communication latency has become one of the determining factors for the performance of parallel clusters. To design low-latency network topologies for high-performance computing clusters, we optimize the diameters, mean path lengths, and bisection widths of circulant topologies.
