ARHGAP29 promotes keratinocyte proliferation and migration in vitro and is dispensable for in vivo wound healing

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, Volume 254, Issue 4, Page 310-329, April 2025.
Abstract Background RhoA GTPases play critical roles in actin cytoskeletal remodeling required for controlling a diverse range of cellular functions including cell proliferation, adhesion, migration and changes in cell shape, all required for cutaneous wound healing.

African elephants influence browse availability for black rhinoceroses in Gonarezhou National Park, Zimbabwe

open access: yesThe Journal of Wildlife Management, Volume 89, Issue 3, April 2025.
This study examined competition for woody browse between elephants and reintroduced black rhinoceroses in Gonarezhou National Park during the 2022 dry season. We found substantial overlap in their feeding areas, plant species selection, and foraging heights, although elephants preferred larger stem diameters.

Effect of Low Red‐to‐Far‐Red Light on Stem Elongation and Pith Cell Development in Dicots

open access: yesPlant Direct, Volume 9, Issue 4, April 2025.
ABSTRACT In dense canopies, light becomes a limiting factor for plant growth. Many plants respond to neighbor cues by growing taller to improve light capture, a phenomenon known as the shade avoidance syndrome (SAS). The major neighbor detection is via enrichment of far‐red (FR) light that leads to a low red:far‐red light ratio (R:FR), suppressing ...

Hydrological Connectivity of Distributary‐Confluence Geomorphic Unit: A Case Study of H‐Shaped Features Within River Networks

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 61, Issue 4, April 2025.
Abstract The H‐shaped feature, characterized by a single connecting channel (CC) linking two inflows, is a common geomorphological unit in delta river networks. This structure plays a critical role in redistributing upstream flows, affecting the hydrological connectivity of the network.
