Urine chloride trajectory and relationship with diuretic response in acute heart failure
During intensive diuretic treatment, patients with acute heart failure have higher concentrations of chloride than sodium in their urine; however, the levels of these ions are strongly correlated. Patients naïve to furosemide excrete more ions (chloride and sodium) than chronic furosemide users.
