The undetected murder? Evaluation and validation of a practicable and rapid inductively coupled plasma‐mass spectrometry method for the detection of arsenic, lead, and thallium intoxications in postmortem blood

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, Volume 17, Issue 4, Page 470-477, April 2025.
An ICP‐MS method was developed using a modified acidic workup for the quantitative determination of arsenic, lead, and thallium in postmortem blood. The current method is practicable and compatible with an ICP‐MS system used for trace element analysis in an accredited medical laboratory.

Predicting the Distribution of Mesophotic Coral Ecosystems in the Chagos Archipelago

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 4, April 2025.
This study aims to map and predict the distribution of mesophotic coral ecosystems (MCEs) in the Chagos Archipelago, Indian Ocean, using high‐ and low‐resolution bathymetry data. The models, developed using environmental and topographical variables, showed excellent predictive performance, revealing extensive, previously undocumented MCEs; though ...

Water‐to‐Air Imaging: A Recovery Method for the Instantaneous Distorted Image Based on Structured Light and Local Approximate Registration

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 7, Issue 4, April 2025.
This paper proposed a new restoration method for instantaneous images distorted by a wavy water surface. It can effectively eliminate the refraction distortions and improve the visual effect of the image. This means that our method can be applied to a wider range of practical scenarios, especially for dynamic target detection.
