cito: An R package for training neural networks using torch [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Deep Neural Networks (DNN) have become a central method in ecology. Most current deep learning (DL) applications rely on one of the major deep learning frameworks, in particular Torch or TensorFlow, to build and train DNN. Using these frameworks, however, requires substantially more experience and time than typical regression functions in the R ...

Non-equilibrium atmospheric-pressure plasma torch sustained in a quasi-optical beam of subterahertz radiation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
This paper studies a continuous atmospheric-pressure discharge maintained by focused subterahertz radiation of a 263 GHz gyrotron. A plasma torch propagating towards microwave radiation was sustained on an argon flow exiting a metal gas tube in the surrounding atmosphere of air.

Highly Oriented SiC@SiO2 Ceramic Fiber Aerogels with Good Anisotropy of the Thermal Conductivity and High‐Temperature Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The anisotropic‐structure SiC@SiO2 ceramic fiber aerogels feature aligned layers stacking layer‐by‐layer with the same direction and highly oriented 1D fibers inside each layer, resulting in an anisotropy factor as high as 5.08. Not only does it have 60% high recoverable deformation, but it also shows great promise for thermal protection in extreme ...

DeepCatra: Learning flow‐ and graph‐based behaviours for Android malware detection

open access: yesIET Information Security, Volume 17, Issue 1, Page 118-130, January 2023., 2023
Abstract As Android malware grows and evolves, deep learning has been introduced into malware detection, resulting in great effectiveness. Recent work is considering hybrid models and multi‐view learning. However, they use only simple features, limiting the accuracy of these approaches in practice.

A Case Report and Literature Review of Pseudo-TORCH Syndrome Type 2 (PTORCH2)

open access: yesCase Reports in Pediatrics, 2022
A pseudo-TORCH syndrome is a rare autosomal recessive disease characterized by intracranial calcification and microcephaly, leading to spasticity and seizures, but the serology of TORCH infection is negative.

Influence of secondary gas on control characteristics of ICP-RF plasma torches [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2013
Thermal plasma characteristics inside an atmospheric pressure Radio-Frequency Argon plasma torch have been studied by numerically solving axis-symmetric 2-D Magnetohydrodynamics equations, energy transport equations and species conservation equation coupled with 2D Maxwell equations in the vector potential form.

Twin Toughening‐Driven Martensitic Transformation Strategy Synergistic Improvement for Plasticity‐Thermal Shock Resistance of (Hf─Zr─Ti)C Ceramic Coating in Severe Thermal Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A “ceramic self‐toughening strategy” is introduced for enhancing the plasticity and thermal shock resistance of (Hf─Zr─Ti)C coatings through twin toughening‐driven martensitic transformations in oxide scales. It facilitated the formation of stable, dense, and high‐toughness oxide scales after repeat ablation, and endowed prepared coatings with superior

Bandgap‐Dependent Doping of Semiconducting Carbon Nanotube Networks by Proton‐Coupled Electron Transfer for Stable Thermoelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Proton‐coupled electron transfer doping with benzoquinone is applied to p‐dope dense films of semiconducting single‐walled carbon nanotubes. The doping efficiency depends on the pH of the doping solution and the bandgap of the nanotubes. The highest conductivities and power factors are achieved for small‐bandgap nanotubes, remaining stable for over 120
